Recently, I won a bid on Ebay for a NGCD system. The system came in from Brazil and there were a few surprises for me.
1. It came boxed. Box is in mediocre condition but that's still a plus.
2. The first of the negatives: PAL-style power supply. A small oversight on my behalf as I live in the US, but easily remedied.
3. Second negative (a biggie): The console came with a fat stack of some good CD games (ms2, fatal fury, neo driftout, wind jammers to name a few) which normally would be really good, except all 8 games the guy sent me are on CD-Rs.

As far as I'm concerned, it's pretty pointless to have burned NGCD games as they are dirt cheap compared to their AES counterparts.

Now, I'm still pretty new to the cd console, but maybe someone can give me a hint as to whether or not the console will play burned games out-of-the-box.
Anybody have any answers for me?

Yes, the model you purchased should play CD-R's without a problem. I would not be terribly upset with the seller since the games were "free". I would purchase legitimate copies of the games, and keep the CD-R's to play (that way you don't have to be worried about scratches). I think you got a good deal. As far as the power supply is concerned, it's most likely 240V. You should be able to find a step down for sell somewhere on the internet.
