Interesting thought for the Militant anti-AW factions.

I could care less about the move to AW, whatever sells more games and gets SNKP out of obscurity makes me happy. Nothing pleases me more than the possibility of our favorite series' getting revived.

Something I think all the THIS IS NEO-GEO.COM NOT AW.COM people should ponder is this...


When your favorite games... the Neo's STAPLE games get released on AW, does that mean all discussion of those should be relegated to Unrelated and other sites?

Will you willingly force the discussions of your favorite series' out because of your clutching at your collections and feelings about new hardware?

This is sure to bring new blood into the site, will you be that intolerant of people who may bring intelligent gameplay and news discussion here? (which is something that this site lacks at times...)

Think about this stuff.. do you care about the games more than you do the system?

If you care so much about the hardware, do any of you just own a neo and no games? If the hardware means so much, surely hardware WITHOUT the games should be enough to help you get by..... [/sarcasm]

For whatever reason you don't like the move to different hardware, I can sympathize. Many of you just purchased the system and the thought that it's going to die after one more relase, I'm sure... sucks.

I like the KOF, Metal Slug & Samurai Shodown games.......I like to discuss them, i come here to do that.

Yeah that's why in one of the lots of threads, I suggested that some forums will need to be redefined or some forums added to accomadated all the guaranteed AW talk.

any idiot could tell you that neo geo stands for "new world."

atomiswave is going to blow us away whether these people like it or not. SNK caters to the 2D market. Remember that.

I agree that SNK should move on to new hardware.

But I dont think the atomiswave is the way to go. Sammy has produced nothing but shit games for the system and its basically a toned down naomi, so i dont see the point in the system.

the point in the system is to give something back to you guys who seem to LOVE SNK games. you're just all too blind to see that aspect. your minds are in one-track mode......."new hardware, boo!". ever heard the saying, "don't knock it until you've tried it"? it applies here. don't criticize or attack something that you haven't seen or experienced yet. sure, in your OPINION, Sammy has turned out shit (in MY OPINION, they've done a few good games), BUT they have yet to release a single SNKP game. so i don't see the point in arguing against it or attacking it when you really know nothing about it yet. none of us do.

and if it's considered a "toned down naomi", then bring that shit on! (Naomi has harbored TONS of great games). and with any hope, they'll port to the Dreamcast as well.

New World

I'm pretty disinterested in the AW. I find it absolutely amazing that people who have been dumping all over SNKP since 2001 are ready to jump on the bandwagon and go all out AW.

I like some of SNKP's releases, but they are not better, in any way shape or form, to the old SNK that made us like the NEO GEO in the first place. What exactly has Playmore done again that gives them credibility that they can create all new games that will live up to the originals? All their previous work has been nothing more than a finishing up of old SNK projects that had already had been worked on and developed in some way. And they didn't do a very good job finishing up either, i.e. sound glitches in MS5, and piss poor hit detection in SvC for example. Also, that Pochi and Nya has an old 1995 'winners don't use drugs' intro on it? Talk about digging in the attic, make sure you blow the dust off your MVS carts for that one

I think obviously there will be alot of discussion of AW here in the future. If we could have an Atomiswave Forum here, then I think that would be great, because I want this site to keep the focus on Neo Geo, and having a seperate forum for AW talk would help keep the Neo discussion boards more pure and less cluttered with what really is borderline Unrelated discussion concerning AW.
