What do you think? Like the t-shirt contest, do you think we should host more contests where you can win prizes? Tell us what you think.

Yeah, I thought the t-shirt contest was really cool - I just wish the winning t-shirts could've been actually printed :crying:.

Does it matter what the contest is about? Would people participate in a contest where they would have to write a FAQ?

It does limit participation, and FAQs are pretty rough but for a good enough prize you'll always get participants.

What if the contest had simple rules? People wouldn't be expected to write 20 pages of content either. It would be kept simple so everyone could participate.

Yeah, but if people are just churning out a FAQ to win a prize, then it's not gonna be a very good FAQ, is it?

I'm kinda with tsuka don't dumb it down to get more participants, you'll get half assed stuff. What kind of prizes are you looking at? I know Trieu and S-C.com gave away a KOF2002 MVS kit, and some other stuff I forget what for a review contest and got quite a large amount of entries.

Oh no, the content would be limited to certain games, and the deadline would be months away from the initial announcement. We would expect quality work; I certainly wouldn’t allow half-ass entries into the contest. What I mean by simple is -- I would like everyone to have fun without being tied down by too many restrictions.

The content would have to be useful and informative, not to mention enjoyable for everyone to read. There would be prizes on offer (good prizes at that), and the selection would vary based on which position you win.

It’s food for thought anyway. This and many other ideas are being considered so don’t take this as fact just yet. ;)

I think the contests are great. The tshirt one was fun, even if they didn't get printed. The contest giveaways are great too; I won a gamecube from Giby. Fantastic fun I tell you. :glee:

Well, it sucks to eliminate large groups of people by making them do shit that they probably wouldnt ever do anyway.

For example, if you asked for an FAQ on the AES, I would personally be super screwed, because not only do I not own, I have never even played one.

Anyway, just try not to exclude people.
