Cheap super gun, or parts/instructions.

I'm torn between buying a supergun or building my own using an old PC tower case and AT power supply.

Does anyone have instructions on building a supergun, particularly on wiring up controllers? I pretty much just want a home MVS setup, I'm not too interested in playing other Jamma boards (possibly STV though :) ).

Or if anyone in the UK can sell me a cheap supergun with RGB scart output and a 1-slot I'd be very interested.

I just got this same sorta setup, a one slot and a home made (quite MVS specific) supergun.

I really believe I could build one myself after looking at this.

if you want , you could contact supergoose79 on these boards, he makes a wicked cheap gun, with RGB/stereo out and joyports.

I'll post pics of mine when I'm not so busy

I might just do that :) I'm sure I could build a supergun but I'm terrible at soldering, it took me about 2 hours just to install an Afterburner into my GBA ;)

How much did yours cost? I was looking at one from Ravengames but £100 or so seems a bit steep for what's basically a AT PSU, a Jamma wire (harness?) and a converted Megadrive joypad.

I didnt actually pay for it as such, but I think its about $80.

seriously, if you can fit an afterburner, you could build one of these.

AT PSU ( I still use ATX :( )
56 pin Jamma Edge connector
Some wire
15 pin connectors etc for joyports

Like I said, will post pics soon, when I get back from worken :)

Thanks :)

How big is a 1-slot motherboard? It would be cool if I could fit it completely inside the PC case, and maybe build an edge connector/slot for MVS carts in on of the drive bays.. But I think that's probably going a little too far ;)

Am I right in saying that I can wire the Jamma connector straight to a scart/rgb lead without buying any video conversion equipment?

yeah, Mines wired like this, remember the TV you use must be pretty well equipped.
