My first Brand new neo-geo game was actually a KOF'99 MVS kit on the release date. As for homecarts, I always bought them second hand. My first true preorder for a Neo homecart was for SVC Chaos.

When I actually had my first AES system, the first brand spankin' new cart I ever bought was Metal Slug 2 from NCS at $345 smack a roos plus S&H. Sadly though I ended up trading it for a few Saturn games and an Un-opened SMS copy of "Phantasy Star" with resident member Franco Bash back in mid '97 and I will forever wonder why I made that trade. I just hope he still has it. ;)

Technically, the first new home cart I bought was Magician Lord, it came with my Neo (gold). While waiting in line to pay for it, I figured what the heck, and walked back and grabbed a newly released Baseball Stars 2 off the shelf to add to my purchase. Dang, that was about 12 years ago. I still have them BTW.

Looking back, I don't think it was on the actual release date, but it was the day the game shop first got them in -- Fatal Fury 2. My first brand new homecart. I already had a used FF1, and I bought AOF 1 new soon after. I bought them from a place called Die Hard that used to be in the valley here (I think they were associated witth Die Hard Gamefan magazine). I miss that shop.

And even though I havent had a homecart system in a while, I still have that FF2 cart...

More like in the $900 area....

It was, at the time, supposed to be the last KOF release in the series. Also pushed by SNK themselves as an extremely limited release. Apparently not, but no regrets. I used to have a little arcade in my garage that left open for all the neighborhood kids to play. I made enough of my cash back in the end.

First new one of mine was Samurai Shodown II, though in 1995. Wasn't quite that quick to get it on release yet back then enough stores still stocked the games that it was easy enough to get later, as I'm sure some of you recall.

My first home cart was Sam Sho II JPN New for 80 bucks, a little over a year ago. Looking back, it was a little pricey, but I've played that thing to death - 80 dollars in quarters and then a lot more.

My first aes game that i purchased new on release was KOF98.
Yeah I started late.

I was actually into KOF since 95 came out. Got tired of the loading and finally made the plunge to get a REAL neo. That was in 1998.
The system itself didn't come new though. Only the game.

=)

Wow, that was a steal.

I got my SS3 used for like $45.

The first homecart I ever bought new was KOF2001 because I thought at the time that it would probably be the last release.
