PSP delayed till 2005

In a very strange move which we are not used to see from Sony (Do you feel the sarcasm here?) the PSP has been delayed till Q1 2005 for the US and Europe.

Now is the time to save in order to get your Japanese one for xmas for 5 times the price :rolleyes:

I guess Sony's next move is going to be the annoucement about the fact that the PSP will not have any other function than gaming and that they had to drop some power/functions in order to make it sellable under $1000.

Yeah, I heard that too, although my source was G4. I think it was a bad move - it give the big N more time to mobilize.

I really want to buy one this fall when I'll be in Japan. Its going to be very exciting and hopefully they'll show off all it can do at the TGS in september as well.

GOOD! I'm glad it's pushed back. It's bad enough that gaming as we know it has gone ragnarok, and that 2-D is probably going to be bastardized with SNKPs jump to AW, and for SONY to come out with this portable would more or less put the final nail in the coffin for 2-D gaming anywhere, as even NINTENDO would have to come up with something in which to combat a 3-D portable. *Personally I hope someone like "Milton" in Office Space who works at the R&D centre where it's being built, freaks out when someone steals his lunchbox for the last time and burns the place down right before the product is about to ship.

This is exactly what nintendo needed to be able to launch its Dual Screen. Now, lets just hope nintendo realizes this and gets that thing out onto the shelves this christmas season.
