I have been searching for a Schematic for the S-Video mod for sometime. I find the instructions at www.neogeousa.com to be quite confusing.

I have never did this mod but have tried to sketch one out from the discription. If correct, this could help a lot of people to do this mod. I also want to make sure that it is correct before trying it. Once I verify that this is correct, I will revamp it to make it with seperate chroma and luna circuits and include pin #'s.

Can anyone tell me if this is the correct layout for the chroma and Luna circuits?

Please note: I understand that you need 2 of these, 1 for chroma and 1 for Luna. the 75/33 ohm resistor depends on if it's on the chroma circuit or luna circuit.

You forgot the 0.1uF cap across the 100uF cap. Other than that it's correct.

Ok I'll revise it....

I thought that cap did look funny.

now I read that it is two caps......

a .1 cap shouldn't have a + or - right?

I just ordered my transistors today...

I hear that the NTE-85 should work....

I haven't actually done the S-vid part yet, but when I was getting the resistors and caps at a local electronics place, they looked it up on their computer, and verified the NTE-85's were a suitable replacement.

have you seen this ?

I find his substitute for resistors interesting. I couldn't find a 110k resistor either, and ended up getting a 100k and a 10k, thinking I'd put them in series. I will likely go back and get 120k's in an effort to keep it neat.

Do you know a good place to get jacks (S-vid and the like)? I've already done the stereo mod (though it's a bit quiet), and the composite mod, and I used ratshack cheapo jacks. I'd really like a 'bank' or 'plate' of jacks, and then I'd just cut a small section out of the back of the AES... nice and neat like.

No offense to those who have generously offered their help in this thread and others (Thanks!!), but sometimes it seems like getting technical specific information around here is like pulling teeth. There can't be sooo many people making so much money modding AES's, that they are afraid to share the info are they? I've read many less advanced questions searching through this forum that get answered, but it seems that when it gets down to nitty gritty tech questions, there is a looooong silence...

I'm just a noob, so if I'm totally misinterpreting things here in the Tech Support forum, rip me a new one and set me straight.

The !Arcade! S-Video Instructions look very simple, I have not tried an S-Video Mod myself but I want to do it sometime soon.

Here is another link with pictures of an S-Video Mod, but there are no instructions just some pics:

http://spoonman.roarvgm.com/neogeo/neo-mod2.htm

It looks like all the same parts are used on Spoonman's website but its done slightly different.

Does anyone else have links regarding the Neo Geo S-Video Mod?

While the NGUSA instructins are great... I always need to map stuff out on paper before hand....
that's just the way i work.....

Spoonman's setup looks to be the same as NGusa... just looks diffrent.

I will probably do my circuits on a PCB board first....

As i get more comfortable with them (If i ever mod any systems after this one), I'll end up doing them like everyone else. In series without a pcb board.
