Does JAPHEI have a stranglehold on the MVS EBAY Market or what?

DAMMIT!

*Practically every other EBAY listing I come across for MVS Carts and it's Japhei/Caroles-Collectables. I've been wanting to get a freggin' STRIKER'S 1945 PLUS cart for awhile, but 95% of the time when it's up, it's Japhei selling it. *I'd do business with him, but everyone says he either sells exclusively in GMVS product, or SCAMs you and you never recieve product. It seems everytime I turn around it's something I want, but he's the seller! I know there's some other good sellers out there, and I've dealt with them or are dealing with them... I just always find this a bit disturbing that Japhei never seems to run out of any particular cart I want to buy.

Sorry man, it's a tough decision.

The only thing I could recommend is that you send him an email and ask him if the game is a boot or not before you bid on it, he's up front with me on that information why wouldn't he be up front with you. But don't send him an email with guns a blazing, just be cool and ask the straight forward question.

Everything I've bought from Japhei in ebay was as specified in our one on one conversations and not the description. The descriptions are generic and are just cut and pasted in. You've got to ask him everything about the game before bidding.

If the game has a price that is way lower than it should be, then your best bet is that it's a boot. He'll tell you that it's at that price for that reason. If it weren't a boot it would be at the regular price.

I've mostly bought IGS PGM carts from him off of ebay, and they are in perfect working condition and non-boots. I also bought a Breakers Revenge from him as well and it's also perfect and a non-boot.

I've never been scammed by them either, plus he ships hella quick. So, just send him an email and check it out. I can't hurt to just check it all out and get a feel for yourself.

Good luck

From what I understand if the auction states "This is not a boot" then it is legit. But if it states something like "In perfect working condition" or "Sold as is" then he's selling a boot. Personally I would just say stay away.

When dealing with Japhei, you'll get what you paid for.

Always keep these in mind when dealing with Casey:

BooT = Cheaper than market rate, very brief description.

Legit = Market price or higher.

Anyway, good luck on your quest for Strikers +.

Great game.

Tell me about it.

Same exact situation for me. I've been keeping an eye out for a Strikers cart myself and most all that ever comes up are JAPHEI's boots.

I'll find a deal eventually. Should have picked one up when they were affordable... and I could afford it. :(

I got a boot when the description said THIS IS NOT A BOOTLEG, but after a phone call my money was refunded.

Yeah, we all know that Japhei sells boots some times, some times not. But nobody has addressed Merc's original question, which I think is a very interesting one.

How come he has literally DOZENS of MVS auctions on ebay at any given time? Is he really having such a high volume of sales, and if so, to whom the hell is he selling all those carts? Shouldn't it be too expensive for him to have such numbers of autions running simultaneously?

Does anyone know if he's sells/rips off peeps, on other auction sites like maybe...Yahoo? He could be bringing in money from other places and just putting up auctions in hopes of ripping that one person off that doesn't know any better...until its too late:confused:

I remember this one, too. There were sound problems and something else. I forget who it was, but he was mad as hell and having a hard time getting his money back or something. I think it was back in September or October...

Please, DO NOT buy from him even if what he is selling is (supposed to) be legit. BOYCOTT! :blow_top:

Japhei deals in high volumes of arcade stuff.

He spends tons of money on PCB's, etc.

I've seen pictures of his collection and the cabs he has... we're talking buku's here.

The Neo MVS stuff seems to be kinda low dollar for him compared to some of the other things he buys... for instance, ESPGaluda, Psyvariar 2, etc. that he pays about $1400.00 for when they're available to him (for just the game).

So if you see a lot of stuff on ebay, then he's moving it out to make money to buy more stuff.

Agreed. Even if Japhei is selling legit products its been well documented that he is not only an ass, but a retard, bootlegger, and a scammer. Even if the deal is good i would rather do business with someone i knew was reliable.

Agreed. I wouldn't trust him based on all the threads I've seen about him on these forums alone.

Nah that was someone else with the DC import of Ikaruga. They thought it would turn into another Radiant Silvergun. And boy were they wrong.

I can get you a legit Strikers for around 100 shipped to you.
lmk

As far as Ebay MVS auctions go, I think Yaton is the dominant force. He's a good guy that will make things right should you encounter a boot (so ive heard - i have yet to receive a boot from him).

Nuff said Yaton is good to go on MVS deals.
He's even kind enough to give you refund, even if you end up with a boot. :buttrock:

do not buy from that scumbag!!! if I was a millionaire I'd give you my Strikers cart for free and buy a flight to Florida to kick the fuckin shit out of J and his ma!!

Anyways, do not buy from him., even if it is purely out of principle!!!
patience and you'll find a strikers cart elsewhere!! Good luck.
