Yeah, I saw that today to. I didn't post anything cause I knew you were going to.
The production count for the english version is 200-250.

Metal Slug 5

VERY limited quanities...

I'm guessing 100 copies...

Yeah, it appears that MS5 is the rarest. Although I'm thinking that the run was more like 200. I know for a fact that rimm_rs's preorders were around 30, so I'm guessing that the run was at least 150.

Wow that is low. I'm sure its more than 100 simply from rimm_rs successful preorder thread. Not very much talk about the game though, either not very many people have it, or people just don't like it.

Here's a pic of the MS5 Poster that you get if you buy the Homecart. (for those who have not yet bought it of course)

I take it that the count is only for AES. Does anyone know if MVS carts have a larger run?

:help:

Typically the MVS always has a larger run than the homecarts. There is more of a market for them.

Damn, I just saw the JP version is down to 18. Glad I got mine right away. Those who wait are gonna kick themselves in the ass. Looks like we got another Rage of the Dragons on our hands.

Seeing how low the production run for MS5 was, any guesses as to what KOF2003 will be?

Keep in mind that there are still over 100 copies of both KOF2001 and KOF2002 in stock at the Neostore, so perhaps the production run for what could be the last Neo AES title will be at or about the same as MS5.

Do not be surprised to see KOF 03 made in #'s similar to slug 5. Rember, no matter how good a kof is it is just another kof and the home cart sales reflect that. Selling out of a run of a title within 2 to 3 months of it's release and being able to make more on copies that are traded in after that is what Shawn is probably looking at achieving, not having semi strong sales in the begining only to have demand die out and have to sit on over 100 to 150 copies for over a year.

Well I think posts like this will encourage people to pick up the last few AES titles knowing their production run will be so limited.

That is the same poster as the freebee SNK Consumer sent out months ago, right? Judging from the tiny picture I saw above, it seems so...

I thought there is a fault in the sound on certain levels,i would want that fixed before i bought one as you are buying faulty goods.

well there is a one off scratch sound but you have to kow it's there to let it bug you. Basically the poduction run is complete and it's not something that CAN be fixed now.
.
it's a split second problem in the whole game. Not buying it because of that is only depriving yoursaelf of some fun!

All games have bugs. fact. this is a very small one! it's not a gameplay or balance issue (a la SVC:C)

No its not the same poster, this poster from Shawn is the same picture thats on the MS5 Homecart Insert. The snkusa freebie had totally different artwork.

Also, Electroman, its actually a bit smaller than the freebie poster from snkusa. I would say its about an Inch smaller in both width and height.
