Personally I'd rather see "Ports" of...

P.O.W.
IKARI III: The Rescue
Guerrilla War
Time Soldiers

but if an SF game was to be done I'd want to see SF Zero 2 and 3 more than just plain ole' #2. If it's from the #2 part then by all means let it by Super SF II "Hyper" Edition.

why would you want to code street fighter 2 onto an AES cart board anyway?

It's not only him, I always wanted to play SF2 on my NGH too :loco:

Who knows maybe when the homebrew scene really starts.

It would look a bit different as CPS runs at a higher resolution than NeoGeo supports(384x224 versus 320x224).

SF2 would feel mighty strange with 4 buttons.

True, although a no-medium using scrub like myself would hardly know the difference :loco:.

i just don't understand. you can play perfect ports of the game on the playstation and saturn. plus, why are people accepting ports on the neo geo when they don't accept ports of neo games on other systems?

If somebody wants to make it - fine go ahead. I wouldn't pay big bucks for it or anything - the ports I have now are probably just as good if not better than an NGH port would be.

I think it would be kinda cool but like mentioned earlier, I think the look and feel would be totally different which would take away from the game. Street Fighter is all about the controls and looks in my opinion and if you take that away its just another fighting game.

I'd like the original Prehistoric Isle on the Neo. The hardware should be able to handle it, really.

It's a question of reverse-engineering the pcb hardware, rewriting the code to adapt to the MVS hardware, ironing out and cleaning up the code, slicing everything out into separate roms, etc

/me fondles the pcb of PI'1930s

How about this instead.

Take the graphics for the characters from the Alpha games. Then take them and make them exactly like their SSF2X versions as far as moves go and work from there.

I wouldn't want Street Fighter 2 anywheres near my Neo, personally. But it would be kind of interesting to see.

Snk vs. Capcom is the closest thing to SF on the neo and I don't know why someone would bother making a homebrew of SF2. Make your own games or neo games that never made it to the aes.
