I have a faulty 1994 Art & Magic board (no boot up)



Does any one know if these boards have a suicide battery, there is a block module top right of piccy, I wonder if there is a battery enclosed like in the Sega System 16/18 modules ? I dont want to hack into it untill I get some advice.

It may be Stone Ball ? Thats all I can see in mame that would fit the bill.

You might ask Aaron Giles of MAMEdev, since he wrote the driver for the system. I believe he said it had encrypted video RAM/framebuffer, but I don't know if it would be battery backed or not.

It turns out there is a battery, I thought it was a sealed block.
The plastic cover can be removed.



The battery is OK.
