I am getting an Xbox so I can play Ninja Gaiden. I plan to mod it in the future, so I just wanted to make sure that the new Xbox models don't have some kind of block on this(you never know). Also, I plan to get one game and xbox live to hold me over until Ninja Gaiden. I was thinking about Star Wars KOOR, is that a xbox live game? It looked to me like a mmrpg, but maybe Im thinking of somthing else. I need some game reccomendations here, I want somthing to play online. I loved PSO until the cheaters came so that is out of the picture. I love games where you can customize alot.

As far as I've read, the newest models of Xboxes are still mod-able, but the procedure and hardware/software needed is different (read: more difficult). Star Wars: KOTOR is an action-RPG hybrid game. Star Wars: Jedi Academy however is Xbox Live compatible and is a better game overall IMO (I don't like RPGs).

Project Gotham 2 was a blast to play online, unfortunately I had to stop due to time constraints from school, and I'm so out practice now I don't bother to go back.

I'd grab Halo first of all. After that, Splinter Cell, Crimson Skies, Panzer Dragoon Orta, and the GTA double pack are all pretty damned good.

I haven't modded my box yet, but what Buro said seems to be correct based on what I've read. When I do get mine modded, I'll probably just get someone else to mod it for me.

EDIT: You can also buy a new x-box that has been modded. I forgot the website, but I'm sure someone here will post it for ya.

I used to own an Xbox and I owned PDO and Halo. I already have beaten Panzer Dragoon Orta. I have beaten Halo on Legendary and invested thousands of hours in multiplayer, online and off.

I want somthing that will grab me like PSO, although I know that probably won't happen. I want a game that I can play for hours on end at home w/o getting bored. That is why I was asking about Xbox live games. I would just get PSO again, but the dupers ruin it. I was thinking about Star Wars KOTOR, but I am not a big Star Wars fan, the gameplay itselt looks incredible though.

Right now I am leaning on PGR2 although I know that with like most racing games, I will get bored after two weeks or so. It seems that once I unlock everything in racers I have no desire to play them anymore. Racing online just doesn't seem that fun to me so that isn't really a plus.

I loved Socom on the PS2, so I was thinking maybe the new Rainbow Six would be cool for me. Heck, maybe I should just get a Socom 2, and then put money down on FFX1, that is what I really want. FFX1 will grip me like PSO, I am sure of it. The only problem is that the PS2 version will most likely be much worse than the PC version.

But there is still Ninja Gaiden, if I get the PS2 stuff, I won't be able to afford an Xbox and Ninja Gaiden...Plus Xbox live is so cool, I love the way it is set up. Maybe I should just get a pre-modded system, Ninja Gaiden, and get XBL later. I hear that XBL can't be used on a modded system though, is this true?

I've heard that there are some mods that be turned off, allowing you to connect to XBL by just deactivating the mod. If you make the mistake of connecting without turning it off, I'd guess that you'd probably be banned.

Anyway, yeah NG looks pretty sweet, I'll probably pick that one up myself.

Regarding your game choices, it seems like you've got it pretty well figured out - just go with what you think you'll enjoy. You know better than we do about what you'd like.

About KOTOR, I've nothing but wonderful things about it, and it has received game of the year awards from multiple mags. I don't think you can go wrong with that one.

Oh man..
My reply could be really long bit since it's late I'll make it quick and reply again tomorrow.(I'm Beat)
Feel Free to drop me an email..I can give you a list of games I think are great etc..

Socom 2 on the PS2 is really something..I own the game but I still haven't had the time to go online with it..
I have played it online at my Brother In Laws house..
He plays everyday...

The new Rainbow Six might be an option also..

If you want a game somewhat similar to Socom....for the Xbox(Live Enabled)get Desert Storm II..
Desert Storm & Desert Storm II are two of my favorites.

Rainbow Six 3 is a Sweet!! game..I love this game..It rocks..
Something else I have the kit to go online with but don't have the dedicated time to do so..
Ghost Recon isn't bad either..

I hate..Star Wars KOTOR..It's a really nice game just not for me..
On my shelf it sits.
It takes a lot for me to hate a game and I like Star Wars.

Crimson Skies will keep you busy for awhile..That's another game that rocks..

NOTE: I will only take about games I own and have played(My own opinion/I don't like opinionating on games)

You can use Live if you have a modded xbox. Just remember to disable the modchip, before you log on to Live. Most modchips, has a switch, so you turn the mod off/on.

If you have the mod on and by accident, you log on to Live, you will be banned. But there is usually a LED by the switch, that indicates if you have the modchip on or not.
