One more question about a consolized MVS system...

For those of you who make them regularly, do you use fuses at all? Or do you just wire everything up without them? Also, I know everyone installs a DPST on/off switch, would that actually be any different than wiring the power straight to the 5-pin din, bypassing the switch, and plugging power into a surge protector? Then you could just flip the switch on the surge protector. I'm just looking for the safest way to hook it up to power. If installing the switch is harmless, I'll go ahead and do that. Thanks.

for most consolized MVS systems, you won't need fuses...

It all depends on your powersupply... I use them with PC/Arcade PSU's because they output way to much juice...

Most tabletop PSU's used in consolized units only output 1-4 amps.... That's not enough to really fry your board.....

You will be fine with a SC 200....

It doesn't put out much more than the board needs.
