ive already got it...

i cant believe this type of game is popular.. there is no freedom at all and most of the game is pushing one button over and over again..

its the worlds most simple concept dressed up in amazing graphics and production values... sorta like some hollywood blockbuster...

the intro is the best cg i have ever seen though.

Heh heh heh... just got my copy today...

It's awesome. I've spent the last four hours playing it.

beeze is kinda right and kinda wrong... at heart, it's a beat 'em up, so you tend to use the slash button alot... but you've also got to be pretty quick with the guard button, and when you want to shoot someone far away (like an out of reach archer you can't slash) you've got to switch over to your R1 and 0 buttons... so sometimes in the midst of battle you're trying to switch between guarding and slashing and shooting, and the whole thing can get really hectic. Jacques Brun's (Jean Leno) whip has even a few more features that make the gameplay a little more complicated.

its so samey and limited though man... i really fail to understand how a game like this outsells some other games which are far more immersive and give more freedom...

i am sure taste comes into it but no one can really deny that this game is very simple and linear..

yeah, I thought onimusha 2 had some bad ass graphics, onimusha 3 just blows 2 graphics sky high, it's not even a comparison. I can't wait for this game to come out!

@evasyar: yeah, it's still 100% static. Actually, I was a little disappointed that the graphics hadn't improved at all since the first Onimusha.

It doesn't have English from the start.

Both Onimusha 1, and Chaos Legion had English as an unlockable feature, so I'm betting that this one does too.

Once I finish it, I can tell you for sure.

Hey beeze, let's have a race to see who can finish it first!

How is the music in Oni 3?

I thought the music for Oni 2 was exceptionally good... The whole game was awesome - has to be one of my favorite games (even though it'd be low on the list) even though it is just a beatemup.

But it is an artistically beautiful beatemup. That is all that matters.
well... kinda...

Anyway, I mean NES games are repetitive too, you just press the same button and move left and right, but that doesn't make them bad games...

Thanks for the impressions Beelzebubble and Tsukaesugi

what a load of crap!!!:very_ang: :very_ang:
press X and summon legion

loads of fun, yeah right.... any classic 2d beatemup is better than this.

at least they could have given you different attacks like Oni....

LOL! What are you talking about. Chaos Legion is a fine game. You didn't play enough to get all the new attacks. You have to approach the game like an adventure RPG, not a beat-em up. I thought this game was repetitive until I maxed out Sieg and my summons and earned new attacks.

Metal Arms... heard the name, but don't know anything about it. What genre is it?

My PS2 is a non-modded Japanese, so half the time I can't figure out what the hell is going on.

In was kinda funny, in the Paris section of Onimusha 3, when Jacques was speaking to Phillipe in French, I had the Japanese subtitles on, so between my crappy French and my crappy Japanese reading skills, I managed to understand the situation.

nah I have new legions and press x 3 times for a slash combo
and the legions just run around like a bunch of crazy crack monkeys you just make them focus on the small fry while you xxx the boss xxx and xxx maybe a jump or 2

still sucks
no grapples
no supers
no variety

it's mutton dressed up as ham

if Double dragon 1 had the samegraphics and the gameplay of double dragon it would be x10 times better than this tripe imo at least in real rpgs you have different spells and things

You still haven't gotten anywhere. You get more attacks, legions, and combos. You can use legions in the middle of your attacks without summoning. You HAVE to level them up if you want to see anything. Did you know if you have the right timing in some stages a power charge type move will instantly kill a very tough enemy? Plus the difficulty really makes you get better.

Played it for about ten hours now, and I'm almost at the end I think, but I'm stuck.

Yesterday I went out and bought the official Capcom guidebook. Usually I buy the Famitsu guidebooks, they not only have all the secrets etc., but the layout and art is amazing. This time there was no Famitsu book (yet?), so I settled for the Capcom one. Took it home, unwrapped it (it was shrinkwrapped so I wasn't abel to really check it out in the store) and found that it only covers the first half of the game. There's absolutely no info on the later half, and hardly any info on secrets etc.

I've been scammed... by CAPCOM!
