2D fighting game: Chaos Breaker developed by Eolith for Taito

Ok here is the news:

Taito has put up a page announcing their entries for the AOU 2004 show. Check the bottom for an image of Chaos Breaker, a 2D fighting game. The look is very similar to Dark Awake, an Eolith game that was supposed to be published by Taito, and was announced at the last TGS. It is very likely that this is the same Eolith property, but with a new name.

Does anyone have any pics or anything to add to this?

I for one enjoyed KOF 2k1 and I know there's people here that like KOF 2k2 as well.

I'd like to see how this turns out.

*DAMN I was hoping this game (based off the thread title) Chaos Breaker would be a return to bad ass "Roving Brawlers" like Bare Knuckle or FINAL FIGHT. Oh well, can't win em' all.

Initially I thought this game was going to be some sort of expansion on the 'Chaos Break' game that Taito made for the PSone (dont worry if you've never heard of it), which in turn, is part of the 'Chaos Heat' series (I think).

But looking at the screenshots, it dosent seem as though it bears any similarity whatsoever.
Which is neither a good thing or a bad thing.

Looks decent. I dig the skeletons...

About a port of this game, perhaps if it doesn't break even at the 'cades it may be ported to PS2.

Looks great. Cant wait to see some better quality shots.
The backgrounds seem to be very detailed and I like the whole dark/gothic/Vampire Savoir-ish look it has to it.

I'd be interested to see what Eolith would do with one of their OWN series... KOF2001 and 2002 weren't that impressive to me, but I'm willing to give them a chance.
