I want to run two cabs off of one 6 slot MVS board. Has any one done this I noticed in Hong Kong they have two cabs on one MVS board back to back for two player games.
I have two cabs and I thought it would be good to play KOF and SS0 on two screens like in a Hong Kong arcade...I am going to make up a link cable anyway I just wondered if any one else has done this...

couldnt you just hook the monitor up and the second controller up to the second cab ?

Essentially its just a matter of connecting the mvs/jamma edge connects in parallel. The RGBs would need to be buffered and amplified to drive the two monitors, the sync would probably be sufficient to drive both. Ive never tried it.

It would be a good idea to disconnect the outputs from one of the cabs psus.

The back to back cabs you mention are SEGA Versus Citys and they are infact kinda one cabinet, but with two 29" monitors and one set of controls per side. Freaking awesome stuff and I would love to get one one day! Though in line with what Toddy mentioned, they would have a video amp built in, as arcade PCB's aren't designed to support that sort of load on the RGB output.

Please do, I'm also looking into hooking up two cabinets to one pcb, a namco card which also sports two JVS outputs. In the bios you can choose between JVS and jamma output. The best thing would be if I managed to get the video to run out the "monitor plugs" on the mobo and the rest of the I/O board but I'm not sure it can be done.

Thanks, http://www.anatekcorp.com/driving.htm is what I was looking for, now getting two of those NTE2322 for under 15$. >.<

Still looking for a way to decode playstation controllers though (for a supergun), those playstation to neogeo are the closest but those darn autofire, slowmotion features spoil them. :P

That link is for vga rather than rgb, sounds a good idea though......

I wouldbe suprised if you couldn't just connect 2 monitors to the jamma edge unbuffered.

Hooked both monitor up without the amp and it worked, hooked the speakers up in serial too and everything seems to work just grand. Using a namco system 12 by the way.

This cable was given to me buy a Japanese Arcade operator, when the Japanese came to Evolution 2K3 (Fighting Game Tournament). We used these to hook up a USA Cabinet <-> Japan Cabinet & Japan <-> Japan cabinet. He uses these cables to transform 2 Astro City's into 1Versus City.

It's a simple JAMMA splitter as you can see. The video & audio are spliced and one end goes to the JAMMA finger board for player 1 (1st cabinet w/ game board). The connections which are wired to the 1st fingerboard are ground, video, audio, power, and 1p controls.

The Dsub 25 pin connector connects to a 2nd fingerboard which goes into player 2 (2nd cabinet). The wired connections are ground, video, audio, and 2p controls.

As far as I can tell, The picture quality gets a little darker, but barely noticable.

I think the black/white (rgb) ratio will be attenuated so the contrast will decrease. It really needs a buffer and amp imho

We actually managed to splice the RGB signal into 3 different signals. 2 cabinets and 1 RGB -> NTSC converter (for capturing and displaying on projector). We still managed to get great picture quality. We used it on CPS2,CPS3, and NAOMI, so I don't know if it will differ on MVS.

Here is a video clip that I took of it in action:
