*Edit: Has anyone/everyone received email confirmation that their Steel Battalion pre-order has shipped?

Well February 24 has finally rolled around. Capcom's site says the SB pre-orders should be shipping today. Anyone recieved any sort of email verification yet?

Who here ordered this bad boy and will you be picking up Line of Contact also?

I cancelled mine at the last minute (as they were shipping out). I really wanted to play it again, but the lack of an Xbox would make that kind of hard. I'm sure I'll pick one up again in a few years when they're going for $500. I hear Chris1 has a few extras laying around...

I'm getting LOC pretty soon (Thursday). Should be t3h own from what I understand.

Oh if you haven't noticed I think Sammy helped make the controller for SB.

Steel Battalion, that Xbox game with that "unique" pricey controller ?

I was considering of getting it, but the fact that the game erases all your saves if you fail during a mission made me think twice about it.

I'm all over it!

I originally got my on the first release, but returned it after having doubts. A couple of months later I really decided that I wanted it, but the Ebay prices were a bit much.

So this release is perfect for me. I'm already starting to try to figure out a way to create a crazy cockpit out of old bikes welded together... got to have the immersive experience you know :) I've also got my projector setup this time around too instead of the old Sony 27", so I just can't resist!

to those who preordered, can you verify if the new controller is different from the 1st release?

Not so much if you fail, more like if you run out of money by getting your VT destoryed or if you fail to eject in time.

As far as ejection goes you have plenty of time to get out of there. But, that being said once you get into it its a great experince that will own you.

According to item tracking I should get it tomorrow. It was in Illinois on Sat. If you dont get it tomorrow I would call them.

No, it won't erase all your saves from other games too. Thats just silly.

From what i understand when you die you are dead and its game over. Your characters data is erased because you are dead. I think this adds an interesting element to the game, and again from what i understand you always have the option to eject and re-do the misison, although i think you will lose your VT if it is destroyed.

Wow, you're retarded. Thanks for your useless post. Please don't "hoard" this game up. There are people out there who actually want to buy the game to *gasp* play it.

Agreed, Buy this game and play it you will not be sorry.

That being said I just finished some campign battles. Very fun stuff. Nothing beats a mech battle with the song Live from Baghdad blaring from your speakers.

Just got my re-release of SB and Line of Contact. Haven't tried it online yet, but I am loving SB twice as much now as I did the first time around.

For anyone else out there who gave up on the game after a couple of hours and sold/returned it, do yourself a favor and give it another go. It is absolutely well worth my money and then some.

Hope to see you guys online. Speaking of, any chance some of you people would want to get a big Neo campaign happening??

There are no differences.

I still have the orginal package, but I have to get a new Xbox to play LoC since I modded my current one :emb:

Actually there are two things that I noticed. First off the buttons are now blue instead of green, no biggie. I still prefer the green ones, but hey. Second and more important to me, the gear shifter is noticibly looser than my original controller. Maybe this is something that just varies from controller to controller, or maybe they loosened it for the re-release, I couldn't tell you. I do prefer the new controller though. With the older one, I'd have to be careful that I didn't push the entire controller towards the edge of the table when changing gears (I had to kind of press down on it while pushing it forward). With the new one though, it just glides from gear to gear. Much nicer :)

Still no Steel Battalion :oh_no: I emailed capcom about the status of my order, hopefully they reply soon.

Also glad to hear about the seemingly improved gear shifter, i was wondering how possible it would be to play the game with the controller on my lap.

I would say very possible. Thats how I play it (no not in that way ya sick pervs).

That said once you get the game go to SB central at http://sbc.pippin.us. As its a very informative site. Play the first game instead of jumping right into live as the first SB will get you better aquainted to the controller.

I GOT IT!!!

First Impressions: HOT DAMN THIS IS COOL.

Second Impressions: I suck as a VT pilot, must train and get better.

Any tips on mech vs mech combat?

Anybody try LOC yet? I was really thinking of getting this game but the fact that it's online ONLY really bugs me. I like being able to come back to my games 5 years later and still be able to play. Plus I hate being forced to play online. If there's one thing I've learned about online play and this board it's DON'T look for peeps to play this with. You guys are NEVER on...cept maybe Loopz, but he's always playing CvS:loco:

line of contact is just SB1 with online play.

and it does have 1-10 player system link, you can still play it "for years to come".

it supports custom soundtrack too.
