NP, all tournies need to be recorded and put up on the net, it's better than just hearing the results.

I can come up with a sort of ... business card thing, made in Word, which won't really be a business card but it will serve it's purpose. Kind of.

Well its 7am. im up and packing up for the tournament.. Hope to see you guys.. Remember sign in is early!!!....

Order of games will be:

1st snk: MOTW. 1st capcom: 3rd strike.
2nd snk: SVC-chaos. 2nd capcom: MVC2
3rd snk: KOF 2001 3rd capcom: None- because MVC2 takes so long

Madden & Halo will be running all day.

All 1st. games start at Noon and maybe 11:30 if turn out is alot!!

after almost barely missing the entire event, i managed to finally convince my uncle to give me the ride there, and thus danny and i showed up to gameflex.

the whole thing was great, seriously. i'm just waiting for when you announce gameflex 3. all you guys (calm warrior, geekabilly, etc) were awesome to hang with.

Thanks to one and all for showing up.. was a great time a bit smaller than we were thinking but still good the location a nd room were great!!! We all got to meet up and play some games got to see 2003 and slug 5 both great games!!! I tip my hat to all the winners.. And we hope to do another real soon... also i found out alot of people were in Orlando due to a GGXX tournament..oh well next time* I have a few pics on my cam i will be posting soon and sorry Giby we did not have the time to set up all the vcrs..ect... due to time ..we were running abit late.. A-HA! So that's what you look like, nothingxs! I faced you yesterday in MOTW in the first round (though I got swiftly steamrolled 3-0). Still, I had an excellent time playing the other games they had there (namely KOF '98 and KOF '03). It was also great to see so many NG.com members there (especially geekabilly, who I intentionally called Gekka No Billy during the tournament).

My friend Alaric, on the other hand, made it to the semi-finals of the SF3: Third Strike tournament (thanks to a wild-card victory). Unfortunately, he got crushed in the semi's by one guy who went on to win the whole enchilada. As for me, I made a come-from-behind victory to win the first round of the SVC Chaos tournament 3-2, and I was awarded the title of "Best Victory Pose" (or so I'd like to believe). Alas, I got eradicated in the next round 3-0. All things considered, though, it was the most fun I had at a gaming tournament since Otakon 2003.

Thanks for a great tournament, geekabilly (or, should I say, Gekka No Billy).

Not to rag on anyone, but Garou was probably the most boring of the events. Not enough people signed up, Terry pretty much got picked the most, along with Rock. Saw some Marco players too, but that was about it.

Nice to finally see KOF2K3 on something other than my computer screen. They need to port this already, damnit.

Most matches in SVC were kind of one-sided up until insaneben turned one game around and Az faced calmwarrior (lost 2-3, but holy crap was it close). I'd like to say the match between me and calmwarrior was cool, but it was more like me getting my ass handed to me. :P

One word for KOF2K1: Clark.

My guess is 6-8 people in MOTW, although I may be overshooting it.

SVC was my favorite (and if there's another tournament, I'm not going to lose SVC again, darn you calm_warrior... ;D), but SF3 looked fantastic. The tension from watching it was just in-fucking credible. 2001 would've been better if people didn't pick 4-guy teams all the time (which Clark quickly went through, at least).

KOF2K3 will probably be a BLAST to tourney in.

EDIT: Also, from what I caught from Halo (wasn't really paying attention), it looked intense.

You beat me at SVC because you've mastered the GCFS and I couldn't do anything about it but repeatedly eat BUSTAH WORLF!!!@ in the mouth. Your skill > My skill, that's about it. It was, however, seriously possible for Az to have taken you out that round, in which case he'd likely have won, so the urban legend goes that he came in 2nd, not me. I just pretend I did because I got the easier bracket... :P

Before I forget, I remember someone took a video or two of the MVC events. The tall, lanky dude who won SF3 (AND MVC2, I believe). I think that was Lovell, no?

Clark is only worth playing entirely aggressive, putting lots of pressure and mindgames on your opponent.

He is trash otherwise. You learn this kind of thing by playing in Mexico against crazy grappler players.

You should see me play Goro on a good day.

On another note, we will be bringing our secret weapon to Gameflex 3. He is one so, but so formidable, that he will cause people to turn their heads (us included).

Even KOF 94 is pretty hot too, only think i don't remember liking about 94 is AI for kim he used to be so nasty!:help: He used to have me cowering in the corner with my last character and still have his life bar with stupid and short ass choi waiting to come and drill you once and then it's over. BTW... Would anyone be interested in seeing a Mario Kart Tournament next Gameflex? Just seeing what interests you guys besides the obvious.

With the addition of that, ggx2, and cvs2, i think the turnout on this one should be quite nice. The Mario DD was a pretty nice addition too, although I didn't think tournaments for that game even existed

And do you think we can somehow find a way to a: use sticks that don't have a retarded button pattern or b: SOMEHOW find a converter for the aesfor either ps2 or DC? :help:

I was going to suggest a Smash Brothers tourney, because a LOT of my friends play that game and are always bitching about the fact that it gets no tourney love, but I figure there's a good reason for that.

Anywho, good luck, and I hope I actually get to SEE SAMURAI SHODOWN 5 BEFORE THE DAY IS OVER THIS TIME!!!!;)

Well Project Justice was my idea, wanted to mix it up a bit..
Also you cant make a converter to use on the Supernova for other Sticks/pads... i changed my stick to have the almost Neo* set up as close as can be.. you don't like it sorry.. Also if your talking abouth the aes system what 2001 was on yes they have a converter for PS2 pads.. but were not going to use the AES at all next game flex.. 98, 03, MOTW, Chaos are all on the Supernova..

I barely made the cut-off time last time because of time constraints and the fact I barely managed a ride. Don't hurt me now. :(

Do you have any method to use regular console controllers on the Supergun at all?

Well props on the Project Justice addition, and I understand. On an arcade stick I can do okay, it's just the aes stick wasnt too friendly to me :crying:. I wasn't used to the configuration used on the supernova sticks either, but I can work with it if need be, just need a little preparation this time I suppose. Eitherway, it should still be good stuff. And maybe this time Nothingxs and I might actually be able to have a REAL fight.:cool:

For The King of Fighters '98, are you going to allow the "alternate" versions of all the characters to be selectable (the ones you "unlock" by holding the Start button by selecting each character)? The only character I see that this shouldn't be allowed with would be Omega Rugal, but everyone else's alternate mode sounds like fair game to me (about half of the roster has an "alternate" version).

Also, can we start getting people who intend to show up to post here? ;\ And can someone change the topic of the thread to "Gameflex III: South Florida Tournament @ June 5th" or something?

Because Omega Rugal is selectable in the home version of KOF'98, and if you have something set to Home Version around there like the dude with the AES last time, I don't want to have to deal with some fucker picking Omega Rugal. I mean, it wouldn't matter since they'd die to Clark anyways, but jeezus. I don't need to hear GENOCIDE CUTTA!@@ every two seconds. :P

Try out any alternate characters now, if you'd like. Many lose some moves but gain some others in return. Terry, for example, gains his "traveling" Power Wave back in exchange for his DP Rising Tackle which is made charge again -- but he also gains a slide-kick which I believe is from RBFF.

It's all good, I believe.

It (KOF 98) will be played on the arcade mother board so i don't even know if they are unlockable on that one as of right now. I played all the alternate characters today and i don't see the big difference in using them except for the full screen projectiles. In some cases it is a handicap because some of them doesn't have any real good combo links, Well maybe Mai and Yuri. that shin uppercut is so funny to watch (anyway) but i don't have a problem with them but Omega rugal for me is definitely out. He has way to much shiat. reflector beam, projectile, air projectile (not to mention it can be charged) etc,...etc....etc :oh_no: :oh_no: :oh_no: :oh_no: :eek:

So i am for the other characters (i know you want yashiro nothingxs that is why you want the hidden characters. Grappling behind.)

But keep in mind the decision is not final yet but my vote is for the characters to be allowed. 94 kyo is like vintage stuff man.

Your going to have to tell the person running the tournament that you plan to use them because your opponent may not notice the slight face change. So you have to announce to the runner then they tell the person that your using the different character type (like they won't be able to tell from the 1st second of the game) then we will let your opponent know and then you can have at each other. And if your opponent doesn't know the characters oh well. Not your fault.

DDR is working out (your lower body). You are still working out, albeit elsewhere. If I were to use my bike to go everywhere, I'd be working out. If I were to jack off relentlessly for the rest of my life, I'd be working out (I'd have the strongest forearms and biceps on the planet).

You cannot natively play a "cuntroller" on any arcade system except those weird, dedicated SNES games with controllers on them, because everything that's a fighting game uses sticks. :P

I made my own version of the flyer, because I'm awesome like that (not). I'll zip up the font I used to make it with the file, and you can check it out. That's the one I'll hand off to Cintron.

I might just photocopy the hell out of it, since photocopies are relatively inexpensive, and they don't usually all suck balls.

Ban Duolon from the 2K3 tournament.

I don't want to be allowed to use him and then clean the tournament with near-infinite combos and his general broken-ness, nor do I want to see anyone else do this.

Go watch a video of Duolon in action, and you'll see about the best you can do against him is play Benimaru or another Duolon -- otherwise, you're fucked, and might as well just walk awak from the controller. :\

Well ladies and gents today is the day when we go to finalize all the rules for the games and how many matches that are going to be played. Please understand that what we are doing is improving the tournament to make it more fun and fulfilling for everyone even the people that lose. I should be able to put up all the additions and everything by tonight.

Ok. I am tired so bear with me i am going to make this as to the point as possible.

All fighting games are going to be double elimination.

All non-team based games(ex. 3s, mark of the wolves, alpa three and so on) are going to be as follows:
All matches are 2/3 both in losers and winners bracket.
Except for final three competitors that is going to be 3/5 matches.
(Oh yeah and on 3s none of that bs like throwing dudley into the SA2 with ken. that's just not right, you know you going to hell for that one.)
All team based games as of right now will be set up the same except for one difference, The losers bracket is that if you lose one game (which will be your second game actually) your out of the tournament.

CvS2 and MvC2 no gamebreaking glitches are allowed, roll cancel will be allowed. Rival schools ( people like demon hyo, vatsu, daimon(the evil), are not people you can use in the tournament.) These rules are subject also to the referre running the game, "beat you competitor with skill not a programming glitch. Show some degree of skill because i don't want to waste hours of tape and dvd on watching rc every move.)

Hope this is a little more appealing to all you fighters out there.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Halo rule change. right now only the Free For All games have definitely been affected.

It is still single elimination but now the matches have been split into two 15 kill games with two different boards of our chosing will be played upon based of the bracket level. So the person with the highest combined score from those two matches will win in that group of people.

Hit me back with any question that i can clarify for you. Keep in mind i am tired so most likely i did not report everything that went on in the meeting.

Also let me know if you like the chances, I did them for you y'all.

My halo people let me know what do you prefer, 2v2 team play or 4v4 because we are having a bit of a dilemma deciding, thanks for the help.

Crossing up with anyone, doing crouch b, qcf+p, forward b, qcb+p, repeat or into super

Doing crouch b, qcf+px3, if blocked, dp+d and push the mfar away enough that you CANNOT BE PUNISHED PERIOD -- only way out is CD. otherwise, if it hits, do qcf+d instead of dp+d and then crouch c, then qcf+d -- you've just switched sides twice and hit your opponent enough to make him look like a retard.

Pokes at retarded speed and retarded range.

His only problem is his air game. Expect people who play Duolon to win your tournament, and then nod at me saying, "you were right", when you realize how bad it is.

Then again, there may be no Duolon players at all and instead we get competition similar to last time, in which case -I- will be playing Duolon against everyone but Danny to show you what I meant.

Crossing up with anyone, doing crouch b, qcf+p, forward b, qcb+p, repeat or into super

Doing crouch b, qcf+px3, if blocked, dp+d and push the mfar away enough that you CANNOT BE PUNISHED PERIOD -- only way out is CD. otherwise, if it hits, do qcf+d instead of dp+d and then crouch c, then qcf+d -- you've just switched sides twice and hit your opponent enough to make him look like a retard.

His only problem is his air game. Expect people who play Duolon to win your tournament, and then nod at me saying, "you were right", when you realize how bad it is.

Then again, there may be no Duolon players at all and instead we get competition similar to last time, in which case -I- will be playing Duolon against everyone but Danny to show you what I meant.

Don't get me wrong. If he is that powerful of a character then so be it. He is not an evil character nor is he a hidden/ex/suped up version of him self. It would not be competitive if was to ban him just because he is a powerful character. That would be like banning iori or your clark from kof.... you see what i mean. I character power cannot be banned but taking advantage of small errors in the game like that vid you sent me will get people to lose a match. I hope you understand. Besides when you get to the tournament show me his full potential and i will decide then.... until then though i cannot ban a cabinet character because he better equipped and he is not a evil version or something like that.

I don't generally like arguing about character balance. In most cases it is pointless and leads you pretty much nowhere.

This... isn't the case. He is not just a powerful character -- he is just going to tear through legions of unexperienced players and will be the deciding factor in any vs game between two people of comparable skill.

When present in a match between two players of equal skill and playing any combination of characters, one which does not include him, Duolon immediately tips the scales towards the player who selects him. He is not "powerful" -- he is broken in the sense that he can single-handedly defeat any other character given two players of equal skill playing eachother. Most people get trounced by Duolon -- some characters, like Benimaru, Iori and K' have a disgustingly low fighting chance, but at least have something similar to one.

You need to look at the videos. Duolon's presence more often than not determines the outcome of a match. Duolon can pretty much recover a losing game of 2 down vs 0 down to a disgustingly, effortless win.

Seriously -- do whatever. I know a few people who are reluctant to join 2003 anyways with Duolon allowable. We'll see.

kof 2003 may not even pull alot of people. and especially the way you kicked every body ass last time andres and you didn't even use dulong and i don't even see why you even worried about him. as i stated before bus they ass man. But just don't break our rules. You know i believe your one of the strongest 03 players that i have ever seen but you know what i have a very narrow preception of what a good player is on this game because i have not seen to many good people. The other guy i told you about named ice. He is also good at snk games and he says dulong should be banned to because of the stuff that he can do with him. So you know what it will just be a fan fair then if you two make it to the finals. Dulong is in, the glitches he can do are not. That's final. Like a say bus dat ass. You know it's all love baby! Hey peoples, I had mad fun yesterday. David you fucking rock at Garou, and I bow to your l33t skillz. Iceman is quite the g in KOF and SVC (he defeated the jumping b and lived to tell about it, meanwhile I defeated it with shoryuken and died :( ), mad props to him. Whoever it was who beat me the first time in Garou was awesome, and if anyone managed to catch that fight on video (the one where we Double KOed, I was playing Butt/Marco and he was playing Jae Hoon I believe) please let me know. I got owned badly in Alpha 3 and Third Strike, but I love to see the compettion anyway, and I especially like playing Third Strike, so it was a good learning experience. GGXX was nice as hell to watch, although I missed the final. Didn't get to see 98 except for the match I lost and Iceman VS. Andres, which was pretty nice except for the fact that I thought Andres could do a little better against Yashiro. As for Project Justice... :D . Anywho, props to David for managing to not shoot someone while running shitloads of tourneys at once (even though Alpha seemed to last FOREVER), and hopefully I'll see about coming to the next one. Thanks, guys, I had fun :multi_co:.
