Looks like I will be losing my job in the next 6 months due to IT outsourcing (fuck me) and I need a good reliable and free email service.
I need one that has a reliable track history and good anti spam tools.

I will probably be canceling my home cable internet connection here soon and need to switch over all my email stuff to a different address.

suggestions?

Commiserations, hope you get something else soon.

I have a friend who rates Eudora highly.

Both Yahoo and Hotmail have very good anti-spam filters now, although it took them about 2 years to get something decent.

I've had a Hotmail account for a couple years that I basically use strictly for ordering and mailing lists and the amount of spam in the last month has decreased dramatically. I also think Hotmail's layout is a little easier to read.

Conversely, Yahoo mail gives you more disk space (4MB for new account versus 2MB for Hotmail and up to 3MB attachments versus 1MB). Yahoo also has a much better search engine and page loads are a little faster than Hotmail.

Of course, both of these are the mainstream free email accounts, so you might not be interested in either anyway. ;)

BTW, sorry to hear about your job, if my company wasn't having the same problem I would try to find you something, but it looks like I might not be here too much longer either.:oh_no:

on junk email.

yahoo.com is the best...really
hotmail has become into a mess and his new layout is just horrible and confusing

furthemore
yahoo spam filters work PERFECTLY
while hotmail looks like "loves" the spam

Ive been with everyone from YAHOO to Lycos and a bunch of shit breeders inbetween, and finally settled down with HOTMAIL. I haven't had a problem yet with SPAM. I'd suggest them.

It's all about the Hotmail, baby. I cant even recall the last piece of spam received...and that usually goes straight to the Bulk folder. They've relly improved the last few years.
