I've been playing Samurai Shodown II a lot lately..

I never really used Cham Cham that much..
But today I played only using her..

Now..I'm not sure if the Monkey that's with her has a name or...
If...I,
Can I get his ass to do anything else but follow her around..?

Like a Special Attack etc..

I probably could find this info,if it exists somewhere or look at the moves list..

But,I thought I'd ask here first..

hcb+CD (the fireball one) seems to be what i use most effectively, but all of these are funny just to see Paku Paku's animations.

btw, Cham Cham's qcf+kick is nasty. Cat Scratch Fever!

the first combo I started using made me realize Cham's brutal potential, 'specially against those not familiar with human Cham players:
jumping D, crouch D, cat pounce

could get me back into a match very quickly

the true beauty comes from calculating the pounce to land as a cross-up...it's absolutely evil when it's pulled off

You can block the pounce.

But you said unfamiliar :P

Yeah you can - but it's kind of hit or miss when you're in cross-up range with her.

galfordo: my point exactly my man...

can't tell you guys how many times it'd piss of my college roomate when he'd try blocking in the wrong direction and watched Cham loose his blood everywhere...
:D

his swears would drown out Cham Cham's "Kono kono kono"

She's got a great df + D kick as well that comes out really fast.

Good for catching your opponent off guard.

Too bad her Boomerang projectile leaves you so open. It comes out decently fast, but if you anticipate the jump in wrong, or toss out the boomerang without them at least blocking it, you are really going to pay :emb:

That's why i love ss2. It's the little realistic touches that make it so damn cool.

i do like the boomerang's priority though, and qcf+A gets back pretty fast.

Heh too bad the boomerang is slow? What do you want her to be unbeatable? She's top tier as it is. (Uh oh competitive gameplay talk) I'd say it's a good thing it's slow lol. Most projectiles in Samsho are, although galfords comes out hella fast.

Her and Genjuro already have the crown for scrubbilicious hard to read crossups, you can beat an average player with her jump scratch alone.

I never said it was "slow", just that in certain situations can leave you way to open. Therefore you must be really careful with it ;)

I'm glad this topic is being well discussed..I'm enjoying reading all the replies.

I always wanted to ask..
Would you say Samurai Shodown II is the best in the series..?

Is that why they dedicated a whole Arcade machine to that one game..?

as much as I love playing with the fiery Kazama brother, SSII has always been the one that just felt like perfection from the moment I choose my character to the end of the game...I love the series, but this one has a special place in my heart...[hugs AES cart]

I'd say that SS2 is definitely the best of the series - and quite possibly the best fighter on the NGH. It's certainly up there, anyway. I think they knew it was gonna be a huge game in the arcades, and that's why there were quite a few (relatively) dedicated cabs.

As I've said before, even though SS2 is dirt cheap, I'd pay 500 dollars for the home cart if it came down to it. I'd really love to have a mint/nearmint copy of euro SS2 :drool_2: :drool_2:.
