I think that if neo-geo.com sells SNK games on AW it would be nice to have such section. not unrelated but SNK games on other platforms. That would allow ports and original games on AW to have their own part without poluting the neogeo sections.

just an idea for when the first snk games arrive on AW :)

THe idea of a "ports" section has been floated more than once, but now with a hardware other than "teh 24-bit" being floated around, it certainly wouldn't hurt the community.

Assuming, of course, Shawn doesn't absolutely hate the idea. Has he really posted his stance on all this yet?

This would actually make even less sense given the termination of MVS (and effectively NGH) development. With no new titles and speculation about new titles for the NGH/MVS, News and Rumors/General Discussion will stagnate unless people simply begin to talk and speculate about Atomiswave releases and continue their discussion of ports (of which there is a lot in both of these forums).

I agree, we should make one right now, and stick a FAQ on top of it, I'm willing to contribute for it. This way no more "What is an Atomiswave?" threads will appear.

of course not, jeff devkit should be released in a near future (i don t know when exactly) and with it, the homebrew scene will develop quite fast imo. Sure it won t be news and rumors about new official neogeo title, but new homebrew titles, which is not too bad is it ?

My question on the note of "Home Brews" still is however, will the NEO die-hards be able to buy actual "Limited" releases on actual MVS and AES carts, or will it simply be a Home Brew scene where we play everything Open Sourced and/or emulated. *Personally I'll throw down $300 + for a game that has heart and soul to it and not just a puzzle game, on the actual cart formats.

...and BTW, I'm all for the Atomiswave or "Other" section to go up as well, as I'm sure a lot of us will be making the jump to that other system once the prices are a bit more affordable and the games coming out for it are evenly spread out on the genre table.

I can't forecast the homebrew scene, all i can tell is that my work will be distributed as roms (until completion at least since there will be a lot of WIP updates, each coming with downloadable roms).

It s sad the devkit is not yet here, my holidays are soon "bye bye"... i ll be able to work on the neo only on weekends after march 1st :(

I could't agree more.

With the 'General Discussion' forum logically being devoted to 'NeoGeo Main System 'General Discussion', I think the 'System' section should be re-arranged as follow:

NEO GEO CD
(Discuss the NGCD and NGCDZ system & games)

HYPER NEO GEO 64
(Discuss SNK’s cartridge based 64-bit 3D arcade system and games)

NEO GEO POCKET
(Discuss the NGP and NGPC handheld system & games)

NEO GEO RELATED
(Discuss NeoGeo ports on other systems and SNK titles develped for other platforms)

The AW discussion should find their place in the latter.

What do you think?

Neo Geo Related would be a great forum. Post all about Ports for the various systems and "new" AW neo geo games on it.
