What is the best virtua striker game

Which is the best virtua striker game?? In my local arcade The 2000 and 2001 versions are ignored and the 98 version rules.
I havet played the pre 1998 arcade games, so I cant comment on them, but i love virtua striker 2 version 98. Is it available as a rom on the x box???
Also I liked the GC game, but the dreamcast game was disgusting.

I'm a massive fan of 2000.1 on the Dreamcast, you just have to understand how to play it......the goal satisfaction coupled with sweet GFX makes me drool......it doesnt play like any other football game....in fact its near unplayable in that fashion, its more like dragons lair (not really but there is little else for comparrison).

The early games play similar, in the arcade you dont feel as much how its played as your given such little time, its hard,, more of a bettle agaiunst the machine. Deffinatelly not for everyone.

anyway VS 2001.1 on DC
is quite enjoyable
I just found it so easy that is boring after half/hour

or maybe as Baseley says
It plays as no other else

best virtua striker game? ver. 98 definitely.

I guess I'll hav eto go w/ VS 2,though I forgot which year that was.

VS2 ver98 will always hold a special place in my heart. 2 player heaven. Unfortunately both arcades where I used to play it closed down.

yeah 98 rules, none of the sloppyness of the dc version. Although i really agree with baseley09, if U persevere with the engine and realise you have to play it like a battle (tackles every second, kick and rush) than you can score some really satisfying goals and the replays of course are amazing.) But for sheer fun its 2 player version 98.

I really loved the DC version. 2002 looked absolutely amazing but I thought the gameplay suffered a little because of it.
