2-slot MVS with only 5v??

I recently fried my MV-1 and I'm thinking of getting a 2-slot MVS and consolising it. With my supergun and MV-1 I used to have it work with just 5v doing a simple mod involving connecting a 5v line to the power control chip. Is this the same deal with a 2-slot? or will I need different voltages?

Nobody has gotten their 2-slot working with 5v???

I did that with my 2slot...

but I only get sound out of the headphone connector....
