OK, I have an idea on how to make this work better. Browsing the forums on my PPC (even overclocked and alloting lotsa' ram with no pictures) is VERY tedious, taking MINUTES to load a page that is basically text. And then you have to scroll like crazy when reading a thread because of the way the boxes for the posts and names, etc are set up.
BUT! The printer friendly version loads in mere seconds, and fits the Pocket IE browser window perfectly. Unfortunately, to click that option the whole page has to load, and one could easily read the thread by then. Perhaps, if the forums detect a version of Pocket Internet Explorer accessing it, when you click a thread it will display the printer-friendly version automatically? Even better, have the whole forum optimized for pocket IE (the main page, replying, etc).
For an idea of how a good PDA optomized forum works, look at pocketmatrix.com 's forums on a Pocket PC as opposed to a PC- they kinda strip it down but it runs very fast.
