It's been awhile since I spent any significant time with my father who's a man's man, and didn't raise no damn punk bitch. So of course we went out to the Rifle range today. Sadly I didn't get to get snaps of the AK-47 and some of the other stuff I normally have on me.

Oh yeah?

Well I had my nails done.

Of course, with testicles as big as mine the poor girl had to sit on them to reach my cuticles...

Well I get the Cherokee/Siminole/Creole blood from his side of the family, so that explains the Native American "look". He's not Hispanic, but most Hispanics call him the biggest Mexican to walk the Earth... though his real glory days were literally all over Japan in the early 60's and then later he and his droog Nunn threw parties, got themselves shot down in a Helo to replace crystals in radios, and ended up being considered AWOL, where they spent time in the bush with AmeriCAL where his brother Tony was... only to go back and race petty cabs through the streets of SAIGON. He's a natural born ass kicker, just like his Dad and my Great Grandfather we call "Pop"... naturally I walk that same path, though his six other brothers (5 living) aren't as "Military" as him, only serving their Draft notice in NAM, whereas Hokkaido Kuma (What the Japanese Mati-sans and Jo-sans) nicknamed him, put in 23 years in the Air Force 12 of which was pushing troops at Lackland AFB during the "Brown Shoe" era. But he left when the military started pussy footing around. It was his SOG buddies from NAM that I learned most of my tradecraft from, that sadly due to red tape the DOD won't let me utilize in the MARINES due to my fuckin' medication. *But I plan to "Soldier of Fortune" in the near future, prolly down in Mexico or in South America... possibly Africa.

One of the greatest feelings in the world is walking into a gun store and "Legally" purchasing a fire arm and knowing you have that right to do so... at least for the time being. *Just make sure you find someone (or a good school) for weapons usage and you're familiarization isn't just point shooting. There's a lot more to it than that. I can literally under fire (yes live fire training excersizes) duck/run and reaching into a fanny pack with loose 30-30 ammo, load up that lever action, squeeze off a few shots, then duck down on the run and continue to reload. Thus it always appears that I've got a solid 8 rounds. A person has to truly become one with their weapon to ever be good at it. I wouldn't recommend fighting a war with something like the Model 1894 (M94 as I call it), but it could be done, if you maximize your weakest point, and make up for it with a Squad, others armed with semi-auto stuff. **Whatever you do bro, read up on your state's gun laws and find out what is and is not applicable, and don't make a mockery out of us gun owners, but I'm sure you won't.

HOOORAH!

Any firearms you would reccomend to start out learning on? Or rather what would we be a good first gun? I want a handgun primarily for target shooting, so i don't need a dirty harry style magnum that could stop an elephant. Although i am fond of revolvers.

Get a RUGER Mark II .22 caliber pistol. It has the capacity to take a 15 round clip, no recoil and is super controllable, sounds like a Blackcat firecracker going off... and ammo for .22 is availabe literally everywhere. I pay $8.99 + Tax for a box of 20 Rounds of 30-30 ammo for the M94, you can get several hundred Rounds of .22 for almost the same price. It's the easiest to use, and should not be looked down upon be it in pistol form or in rifle form. .22 is what hitmen use to walk up to someone and pop them four times in the ear and walk off. Though you rarely see that realism used in movies, you always see some guy with a .9mm Beretta or a .45 ACP who doesn't really know how to use one.

So go with a .22 caliber, whether it's that model or not, the .22 is the best way to go for beginners. It's what I started out on at age 2, with my Dad helping me hold up my rifle. When you've learned basic gun safety and feel ready to upgrade, a .9mm would do you good, then gradually move on up to the .45 and .50 caliber bullets if that's your thing. *Also figure out what you're looking to do with your weapon of choice. Are you wanting to be a "Marksmen" interested in accuracy (hitting a dime or lighting a match at 500 yards out)... "Hunting" ... for game only... OR are you looking to graduate up to "Tactical Combat Shooting" or TCS for short? First thing I'd do is go to a Gun Store in your area and get the low down on your local/state gun laws. You don't want to wind up with your ass in a sling. Any other questions you might have just feel free to ask.

Yeah, he's right. .22 pistols are tons of fun, and Ruger makes solid stuff. Also, the Browning Buck Mark is a nice .22 pistol - I know I've enjoyed mine.

And he's right about the hitmen thing too. Back in my morbid fascination with hitmen days, I heard that they use .22 caliber guns because the bullets usually don't penetrate cleanly. Supposedly, they can rebound off of bones for extra organ shredding.

Anyway, they're both economical and the hitman's choice - what more could you ask for :D!

what gun to recomend. well, i should begin by saying what a great thread this is. as for gun, we down here in the south love the rifle and the shotgun. i for one recomend the gauge (shot gun). youre not going to go wrong with a 12 gauge for shooting skeet. skeet is like a shooter game. there is a format and a way to perfection. 25 out of 25, thats good stuff. infact one could mix beer and guns here, i know. but in the words of dylan "don;t criticize what you can't understand" condemn it, lash out, whatever, i haint killed no one, and neither has anyone i know.

Actually i think i've fired the Mark 2, or at least something similiar to it. My friend has a Ruger .22 caliber pistol, and while i'm not familiar with exactly what model it was it sounds like the one you're talking about. Its a good looking gun and was very easy to use/shoot. Anyway thanks for all the helpful advice merc.

No problem at all man. Glad to help in whatever way I can. Down here in TEXAS you can even carry an Assault Rifle in your vechicle as long as it's not loaded... so you carry your Banna clip loaded in the glove compartment, if that's your thing, or whatever pistol you have.

Naaah I ain't going to do nothing stupid. No one's worth my right to keep and bear arms legally. And yes I do collect knives as well as swords. I'm currently talking with an older gent from WWII who has an actual WII Katana Sword that the Imperial Japanese Army carried in the Pacific. Might purchase it off of him. I'll have to take a picture of me with my Surgical Steel Commando BOWIE Knife that looks like it was forged in Hell.

K-BAR knives are great man. I've got a few of them lying around somewhere. My personal fave is the WWII Fabarian Commando Dagger, though it's more of an over glorified "Stiletto" the U.S. Military used for CQC. It was designed as a boot knife anyhow, so I use the K-Bar in the field when on manuevers, generally strapped upside down in it's sheath on my chest (left hand side). The Farbarian is a back up knife, then there's the (at least for me) mandantory Tomhawk worn on the right hand side from the hip. When in the field I generally carry the AK-47 (or have it slung over a shoulder), with around 400 Rounds of ammo in 30 Round "Banna" Magazines, ALICE Pack, 2 Canteens of water, threee days worth of food in M.R.E. or canned fashion, Flare Gun, a one man tent, and two fanny pack full of loose 30-30 ammo (sometimes taped in rows of 8 to keep from the clanking) for the M94, and the M94 booted in a customized backholster capable of sliding between the ALICE pack and my back if needed. But that's only in extreme TCS "Survivalist" training excersizes. The M94 is a damn good back up rifle... and that K-BAR has gotten me out of a few rough spots indeed.

It just sucks that most of the crew I used to run with have all moved away mostly. Just Insane Jawa, Genocide Neko, Iron Fist and Night Stalker remain, but be it simply hunting, on actual manuevers or TCT w. realistic Air Rifles, neither time nor money permit it as much as possible. :( *Black Hammer is up in Idaho now, so he's out of it. All of us from the group carry and apprecieate the K-BAR Survival Knife. You should show me your K-BAR sometime man.

CHEERS!
