2k1 and 2k3, the two shittiest KOFs made in recent memory, IMHO.

I thought this was "what do you like about KOF".

My favorite kof games are 96, 97, 98, 2k and 2k2. But, to answer the question that I thought was being asked, I'd have to say the gameplay, concept, characters, music, and to a very small degree, the story. So many different fighting styles and character types all joining up to kick each other a new asshole. Plus, it's so cool that the different games go head to head (KOF94 was a dream come true for some people, at the time.... yeah, we had FFS with Ryo in it, but this was so much more!).

When certain characters interact with eachother...
- Kyo/Iori (talking smack before a fight)
- Andy/Mai (it gets funnier year after year) :D

The part where I link a SDM and it pauses for 1/2 a second, especially when the human opponent is on his last fighter and last bit of energy.

You just KNOW you've won, you can then sit back, puff on a joint (already pre-rolled + sparked for teh champ), and watch the rest of the anim.

I plan on doing the above lots at the forthcoming UK meet in just over 3 weeks time. :buttrock:

Definitely the gameplay. Love DMs and SDMs and also less buttons but more precision in their application. Old school feel. Characters. Music. Hell, the only thing I hate is that they haven't kept the groups to 4 people, and instead went to three. I thought 4 was good for teams, because you could have threee faves and a newer character (Kushnood, Freeman etc) and that theyt haven't gone further with a new "Megamix series with characters from all over, but now I'm really digressing.

Can you imagine Setsuna vs Iori!!!??

Setsuna: Kisama......ima korosu.

Iori: Sono ken de ore wo koroshite miru ka. Baka ga!!!

Hey MagnumKyo, how are u? I'm happy that you have joined to us :)

But we remain in theme:
There are a lot of things that I like in kof I only quote two of it:

-the gameplay: the characters have the adjourned movements/renewed every year, system of game also it renewed or retouched every year, unlike the other fightin' games is very technical.... :smirk:

-music: what to say?? Simply fantastic :buttrock:

When Rugal takes his jacket off in 94 and then proceeds with the administration of a royal fucking beating on your whole freakin' team. Gets me every time.

KOF 2K1 and 2K2 don;t get the respect they deserve. I would say they both rank among my favorite along with 2000.

Character design, gameplay, music.

And if you are talking about which releases I like best... I would say 98, 2001 and 2003.

My favorite moment in KOF is the special intro between Kyo and K' in KOF '99. Made me wonder about K's ending in KOF 2003 and wheter or not Kyo made K's flames rise up in their intro in '99 or not. Just a thought.

I haven't played 2k3 yet, but I've played KOF2k1 in the cade and mostly on the PS2 and I like KOF2k1. The trimmings are very shitty, BGs, music, but the gameplay is so solid and alot of fun. One of the more gameplay solid KOFs IMO.

I personally love the music and attention to detail in the backgrounds. Stages are everything in a fighting game. Gives you something to gawk over. The characters are a plus with their animation as well. My favorites are KOF 95 and 98.

KOF '96,97 and 98 are my all-time favs.
My favorite KOF characters are without a doubt : Vice, Mature and Yamazaki.

I like creepy new stances Vice gets with every new appearance in the series.

I like the backgrounds in KoF. I use to like how the other people on your team would stand in the back waiting for their turn. Oh and my two favorites; Clark's pose after a frankensteiner and his new SDM in 2K3 is crazy

I agree, that was a classic detail.
I also liked how your teamamtes reacted whenever you got hit or landed a blow yourself.

Another detail I liked where the special intro animations for the backgrounds. (Like the cracking thunder in Kim's team background in KOF '95)

HI Guys,
After Playing KOF2k3, i am being MAD Lover of 2k3.
Its Backgrounds, Animations, Game Play, Game System every thing is Perfect. Accept Three Characters & One System. Character
which r totaly heavier then others r Malin, Billy & Duolon, These r really Dangorous & Heavy for other Characters. In this game Grappling System is Totaly Bogus. Grappling system is mixer of KOF96. Do an air attack & Grapp in Combo (no metter other player is on Guard). These r some unbalanced things in this Game, Forget these things & Enjoys the Madness of Combos.
Next Week we r Upload our Combo Exibition of KOF2k3 on our site.
So check it out

Absolute favorite part of KOF was how I felt after I saw the intro of KOF 94 for the very first time and realized I wasn't dreaming, this was a real f--king game...
I'll never forget that feeling EVER...

KOF '96 is and always has been my favorite by far. For me, it was the last KOF game made to where you had to fight every single fighter to get to the end (which I find alot more challenging) and it was also the game where Geese Howard actually came out. Goenitz was the best!!

Of course I'm also a huge fan of the Dream Match in 1998. It was one of the most fun KOF's for me. I love the Orochi Team and I'm glad they made a return in 2002.
