this does not include family members, who will always break your shit.

I lent my best friend my master system when I was about 13 (some 15 years ago - I'm getting old:crying: ), and I was kind of poor and that was my baby, and my first ever console. Had got it for christmas.

well he gave it back to me around 2 weeks later and when I tried out at home it didn't work. My prick of a friend told me he knew nothing about it. Got fixed some six months later
:blow_top:

Since then I have been cautious but have lent my gaming systems out to people I know can take care of things.
Although last year my father in law (I know I said no family, but :very_ang: :blow_top:  ) plugged in a playstation I had just sold, without the step down converter. He took care of it and it was fixed the next day, but come on!!!!! If you're gonna touch my stuff don't fucking break it

...which is why I never lend out anything to anyone unless I know them at least a decade or more, and they understand how anal I am about my stuff, and only if on a Cartridge format. *I only trust 2 people with my Disc Format stuff and that would be my droogs Black Hammer who I've known 19 years, and Genocide Neko who I've known 13 years, and both are as anal about their stuff as I am. *If someone did break my shit, they know up front their paying for it like right that second, better charge for that shit and replace it... or that's the day they find out what a steel toe boot or combat boot to the ear feels like, along with some other physical bodily injuries... and if they get a lawyer on my ass, when I'd get out of prison, I'd beat their ass again. *It's matter of "ethics" which most people today, like common sense are generally lacking... if not we wouldn't have fuckards running the nation, and so many freggin' SELF HELP Gurus.

This is why you are selfish and say hell no when a friend asks to borrow your favorite video game system. No seriously, that is a sad story my friend. I actually, um, well took care of a friend's TurboDuo console when I was 11, he went to Hawaii for vacation and left it with me since I had a Turbo-Grafx 16 and had been wanting to play Dracula X on the Duo. My little sister was about 6 years old and she sat on the system, actually fell back on it and broke it. So it was quite a fiasco... I surrendered my Sega Genesis and Sega CD consoles to him in return, his mom didn't want me to replace the TurboDuo and my mom wanted to, so he just took my Sega CD & Genesis. Anyhow I scored a Super Nintendo two months later for my birthday. His envy was very gratuitous for me.

Is gratuitous the right word there? I don't think so. Let's just say I was happy that he was jealous of my new SNES.

There are only like 2 people that I'd even consider ever letting borrow my games. It's sad, but in general, people don't give a fuck about other people's shit.

If I had money to burn, I wouldn't care. But lending stuff like that out to friends gets you into trouble twice - once 'cause they break your shit and twice because it makes you bitter toward that friend.

A supposed "friend" of mine once (and only once obviously) borowed both my copy of Final Fight 1 and WWF Royal Rumble for SNES one day. I continually asked for him to bring it back and he always had some excuse (I'm still playing it) for not doing so. Fucker up and moved like three months after I let him borrow it and took the games with him.

I was like 10 at the time, I wasn't exactly learned in the troubles with letting people borrow your shit.

I think the people with whom I WOULD let borrow stuff already understand the kind of care I'd want my shit to stay in, and as such, they don't borrow anything, nor do I borrow anything from them.

yep, I'm of the same ilk. I don't borrow stuff either. Though in my case its partly because I have a 2 year old who 1) wants to put his hands on everything (especially stuff he knows he's not allowed) 2) he spazzes out when it comes to video games and gets way over exited so I usually play when he's ot around. Seriously, I end up having to hide or put out of reach anything that I want to stay in the condition its in.
But that's fine coz that's what kids are like:D

Yeah, I only have a couple friends that I feel safe lending my game stuff to, be it a system or game. They would both replace anything they accidentally broke in a heartbeat. I've known them forever.

how the hell did he break a master system? that system is like a tank, you could drop that thing off a roof and it would probably still work.

Almost the same exact thing happened to me, I lent my SMS to my friend downstairs and it was broken when he returned it. He claimed no responsibility, I was so pissed b/c I paid $80 (which was alot of $$ to a 13yr old) but luckily, I was able to return it back to Child World (god bless that store).

I destroyed his Excite Bike NES cartridge in retaliation, lol.

I only lend one person games & that's one of my sisters who respects my stuff..

Other then that...,
I don't lend anyone shit anymore...

Just tonight my Wife was over her Moms house where my wife's younger sister lives too..

I lent her sister two PS games well over a yr ago..

I've been trying to get them back by asking her nicely plus getting my wife to ask her..(trying to keep the peace)

A few months ago she gave one of the games back but made some story up about the second..(I gave her the benefit of the doubt since we get along)
She said she would get it to me by the next day the last time we asked..
(That day came and gone)

Today was the last fkn time I asked..
I called my wife while she was over there and I asked her to ask her sister for the game again..(In front of her parents)

Her Sister first says 'Oh I gave it back to him already" then after my wife says she didn't she came up with 10 fkn different excuses that she can't find it,etc.

I lost total respect now for her sister and as I find out she was just about to ask me to borrow hook-ups for another system..
Fk Her...I'm not giving her shit and my wife's parents know this now..nothing ever again..

Like I told my wife and she told her parents tonight.
It doesn't matter how many games I own it's the principle of it....

This bitch didn't respect my shit thus that's disrespecting me.

She's not even willing to pay me for the game or even get me another,Just gives excuses.
She's an adult.....

When my friends break my things, I make them pay for the fixing job.

The "I am still playing it" excuse is terrible. I once lend my PlayStation2 with Final Fantasy X to a friend for him to play and finish the game, and he gave me his Korean Pump ir Up Fusion PC kit.
After a month, he was "still playing", but what was he doing? He was playing Blitzball ALL DAY and not playing the actual game.

Obviously I gave him his things back and made him give me my system back immediately. After that, I told him he could continue playing each time he visited me, hahaha.

you get mad at a "friend" because he broke a game by mistake? and you may cut your relationship with him because of that? and you still call yourself a friend of his?

come on guys, you should learn what "Friendship" means first. (unless that person wasn't really a friend, but someone whom you just know)

A "real" friend knows that he has to pay if he did something inappropriate.

People havent ever broken my stuff but when I borrow it to them they just disapear.

Back in sixth grade I borrowed a friend all the sonic gamegear games and nba jam and that prick ended up selling them.

At the first MN neo get together I accidently left Project Justice At the house of one of the members (I leave the name undisclosed)here and now thats gone forever (and thats my feckin fav DC game!)

And right now a friend of mine has my new Project Justice, Giga Wing 2, and My DC agetec stick and if I dont that back soon I'm gonna be really sorry.:oh_no:

Never lend any system to any friend except once....

Can you believe I lend my lovely Neo Geo AES to a friend in 1996? At that time I thought cartridge based system is outdated and there is no way for me to keep this shit. Friend of mine came over once and borrowed my AES & SS2 for two weeks.

Glad I got everything back..............

I remember letting my buddy borrow my SNES while I borrowed his Genesis without letting our parents know, I didn't actually break it, but I was scared in cold blood when I saw that the pins in Genesis controller port 1 were bent and crumbling out. Luckily his parents were very understanding and knew a person that fixed game systems personally, so there wasn't any major punishment when they found out.
