I think I will start collecting them too, in addition to US and Japanese games. I really like the blue color scheme and overall consistency, unlike US games which are white, black and orange. Plain jewel cases are just boring anymore, these PAL cases have to be my 2nd favorite, right behind Japanese PSX games.

I only have 1 PAL game (Shenmue 2) and I'd have to say that I do not like the Pal cases. Yeah, they look nice, but seem VERY fragile.

I love 'em too G-D. Nice shade of blue, smooth edges, great looking. I would love to have a nice full collection of PAL DC releases :drool_2:

Some of you UKers post those pics of large PAL DC collections! Beasley maybe?

Yo, quite an old pic but you can see the games (bottom left), and the big hardware boxes, prolly have to copy/paste the link

I quite like them, but about them being fragile, i was carrying them all (around 25) like a stack of plates idiotically, i dropped them all, quite a few smashed far too easily:o

i hate them, they don't fit in cd towers, they crack as easy as sega cd cases, and the doors break REALLY easy, i've already had one break just from being opened. it was also hell getting these games from the UK sellers, cause those bastards mailed them in bubblewrap, so they almost always came cracked.

Check the thread at DC History, earlier I saw one guy at Gamefaqs having 200+ DC Pal games, but the main problem, as everyone can tell you, the cases crack so easily and you simply can't replace them.

One advantage, for PAL DC players though, certain games are only available in Europe and Japan such as Head Hunters, Rez, Shenmue 2, plus many games are much more common in PAL version like Ferrari F355, Soldier of Fortune, etc.

My brother has about 100 Dreamcast PAL games, all in mint condition. They really don't break THAT easilly. I have a couple myself.

Well, I suppose its hard for US people to get them mint, since you have to ship them all, and replace them if they break. But certain games are only $3 dollar so you can get a replacement case.

I own one Euro DC Game, that being 'Headhunter'. They're definitely cool to look at but since they DO break easily (the spine is cracked for god knows WHAT reason, but I've never dropped it and it was fine when I bought it) you can't replace them like you could any other jewel case (aside from SegaCD cases).

Nope,i think they suck in my personal opinion.Sure they look good but you know how hard it is too keep them in good condition!?!?!

They look good but they crack way to easily.Same goes for the PAL Playstation ones too...they look shit and crack so easy.

I love the jewel cases you get in the US and Japan. They stack so much easier and don't get cracked as much.

Peace,Corb

They break easily, but the biggest bind for me is that the CD and the manual are in different places. That said, you get the logo on the spine, which you just don't have room for on the US and Japanese games.

Geeez!

I fucking HATE PAL DC cases! Two years ago, when I was mor into the DC, I was actually considering re-buying all my games in the JAP version, just to get rid of the very sight of those oversized ugly things! :mad_2:

Although handy. I got PAL Shenmue II. I don't think I'll start collecting them just for the cases. I like that they are divided.

I like them quite a lot, but you are right they crack pretty easily and take quite a lot of room... Anyway you must take care that usually European manuals are much thicker because they have multiple languages on them (same release for more than one country, and almost each country has a different language), so they need another compartment for it.

Now that we are at this, I HATED the Saturn PAL cases, the CD would always go loose. Same goes with the USA Sega CD cases.

Here you can see all my PAL DC games:

Another think I dislike about PAL DC games is that many of them have the name in the spine with plain letters, while some others (usually the older ones) have some sort of art. You can see it in the picture.

I really hate them!
I've got over 100 mint or sealed DC games now, and I have a small box of spare cases just in case something happens to any of them!
Check my collection, and you can see about 80 (old photos) The only way to store them is in the racks that I've used (I now have a bank of 10 ((100 games)) so it looks quite impressive) If you just shove them together on a shelf, they get scratched up!
