I had yet another cool afternoon with my wife and my new brother in law whom we call SeaBiscuit cause he sounds like Tobey Mcguire. The dude's all of 12 but is totally down with the older games. He's asking for my 2-Slot already!

:buttrock:

...thus the NEO gaming was on with, bouts of MOTW, KOF 2K2, SVC CHAOS, Metal Slug 2, Shock Troopers and Blazing Star (which my wife even helped in on and beat! Gettin' her away from those puzzle games and into detritus overmind.)... thought I'd share the joy of the next generation who will no doubt keep the NEO alive and well.

*Today @ 1500 hrs before powerin' up.

*Me & Seabiscuit (wearing my Boonie Hat)
right before a game of Metal Slug 2.

...sadly the wife wasn't in the mood for photos today, but usually she's game.

CHEERS!

... I DO SMILE SOMETIMES, BUT NOT OFTEN *From my wedding on December 20th 2003. I rocked that Tuxedo but I still feel more comfortable in my Quasi-Militant stuff, but that's just me. And everything I do is in my Giorgio Armani shades.

Ah man...you do it again Merc...I got a Cousin in El Paso looks just like that lol
We sat down and played the shit out of Altered Beast last summer...and I sat in amazement as he finished Earthworm Jim on Genny from START TO FINISH..the kid is 14 now, good gamer I must say and damn proud he is of MY bloodline!

Keep the eternal flame of classics going man! Teach the youth! Educate them with the knowledge of so many wonderful games from the past 20 years! We are the last of our kind, and I'll be damned if I go out like some BITCH!

I'll teach my kids..my grandkids...my 7 year old cousin in Houston who loves his Mario and Sonic to death, I will keep it going on and on, and I will only relax when I am OLD AND DEAD!

A Classic never dies...It's just re-born in a collection or for the young at heart..and the new generation for those who seek it..

Glad to see you "keeping it real" with your young cousin. He's lucky to have someone to show him what games with soul are all about. Kids today are assaulted by tons of cookie cutter crap games, and I have seen a lot of peer pressure personally among kids and games. It's a good thing to show them an alternative you know?

Hey Merc, cool pics can I ask you a question about the 2 slot cab, I need some info.

On the two slot marquee, are the parts to hold the minis attached to the marquee? Also does the 2 slot have the light panels like the 4 and 6 slots do?

You look like a bad ass italian...are you?

I wouldn't be surprised to find out if I had Italian in my bloodline, but no I'm not. I am predominately Black/Hispanic with all of THIS in my bloodline... Cherokee/Siminole/Apache/Creole/Spainsh/Mongolian/Japanese. I more or less can pass for just about any ethnic group, and even when given tickets I'm listed as "Caucasian" ??? Very STRONG MIX of blood indeed. The hat I'm wearing is a black Mathew Ridgeway like the U.S. Army wore from the later part of WWII into Korea, and then disbanded the use of "official" wear due to Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolutionaries taking them as their own (usually in olive drab like my Cargo Jumper Pants). It looks a bit like the French Foreign Leigon's KEPI but it's distinctly different.

I still have yet to get a key that works on the Marquee thing itself, so I can't even open it to switch out mini-marquees to be honest. I'm talking to the guy who sold me the 2-Slot about trying to find that key. *As for the light, it's just one giant flourescent light bulb and the entire NEO:GEO w. both mini marquees are constatnly lit up. In fact the two that are in there, (AOF 2 & Neo Turf Master) are faded. Never seen a 4 or 6-Slot panel from the inside, so I can't help you there. Hope this helps.

You don't need a key to open it. You just need to unscrew
the top of it, from there you can unlock it and lock it easily,
change the marquees etc...

Nice pics btw.

Not being the most technical person in the world I honestly didn't know that. So I guess I'll just do as you stated and finally get theat Neo Turf Masters mini-marquee to the guy I sold the cart to. Thanks for the tip.

Damn Merc, where'd you get such KoF randomness in your sig? I've laughed my ass off at every single one you've put up.

Anyway you think he's good enough to appreciate teh 8-16 bit? I mean what's it's like to analyze boss patterns and determine exactly what angle to proceed to avoid getting hit by 2 lasers in side scrolling action platformers?

#1> I have made over 185 different Win Quotes with 2K3 just for shits and giggles, and have about 36 different SVC Chaos Win Quotes as well. This does not count the "Gag Jokes" and "Happy Birthday/Valentines" versions that have shown up here and there already.

#2.> My brother in law John {AKA: Sea Biscuit} is no doubt from the PS2/XBOX/GC era, born in 1991 when I was cussing up a storm while trying to beat the Blaze Feilding Clones guarding Mr. X in Bare Knuckles in the 7th grade... but the kid is an open minded "Natural". He isn't going to give up his Next Gen stuff, but Sea Biscuit can already hold his own in multiple rounds of SVC Chaos, MOTW and KOF 2002. *In fact he's actually shown me super moves I couldn't pull off, because the kid doesn't operate off of the logic that I do in things like this, sort of how I used to jut "transform" a transformer without looking at the instructions and my Dad was like: "Aren't you gonna' read... never mind he's transformed it."

...Thus I think the future is bright with guys like my brother in law. He's the coolest sixth grader I've ever known and I'm honored to have him as a little brother (in law) because I was an only child and never had that bonding. *My mother in law doesn't know it, but I'm going to hook him up with a NEO CDZ for his next birthday and about 10 games, just as a starter. He truly likes 16-Bit NEO and Mega Drive stuff better than the new stuff, though he won't get rid of the new stuff either... which I can't blame him on. When he's old enough to drive, I'll get him a Cab.

Besides being told that I remind them of the wrestler TAZ {looks to Steve}, "Yeah, I get that a lot about the Forrest Whitaker thing. But it's cool being compared to a diversified actor such as he." ...BTW don't forget I'm still Turrican Army Member #6 of the Ghost Bear Mercenary Brigade! ;)

Damn....Turrican Army? I forgot about that. I too was in it when I had my first ever Neo Geo.com name "Blaster Keaton"

My title was "The Producer of OWN3D TV"

Lemme tell ya, I was a War Room celebrity for a couple of weeks when I made that thread.

Thought the Turrican Army thing got old and eventually went AWOL.
