Has anyone ever played Street Fighter: The Movie for the arcade?

I've played the PSX version and it was terrible. A local game shop has the Saturn version for sale at $2.

I remember playing in the arcade once. Didn't care for it. It didn't last very long in the arcades.

Never understood the problem, the game is SSF2TX with digitized graphics, common, Captain Sawada was cool.

haha, i actually have this game for the saturn. it's freakin' terrible. and no, it is NOT super street fighter 2 turbo with digitized graphics. SSF2T is a finely tuned fighter. this game is a choppy mess posing as a fighter.

What did they do to Gouki?!?:oh_no:

Glued a pear to his head :D.

The game sucks more than the movie (great cosplay though). I think it was the movie Alaska that had a kid playing it (as Cammy, IIRC).

Hah. I just downloaded the rom of this game 2 days ago because someone else was telling me it was " SSF2T with digitized graphics". The actual gameplay system is a mess though and shares very little with SSF2T.

And what's up with guile being top tier again. Reminds me of the old SF2 WW days.

There are some noteable differences between the arcade version, and the PS1/Saturn versions.
(Character roster, backgrounds etc.)

I've played the game on Saturn a few years ago.
IMO it's nothing special. It isn't a bad game, but there are better fighters out there.
The digitised graphics didn't do much for me either, and Ken (Damian Chapa) looks like that annoying classmate you want to punch in the face.

Just curious, I never really played this game, but the visuals and backgrounds look nice. This is the only street fighter game I didn''t get to play, just want to know if anyone has played it. Post your opinions:D

Here is the game info; http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=S&game_id=9829

STREET FIGHTER 2 THE MOVIE Game? Trust me you didn't miss anything... better off not having seen it much less played it. It was as big a turd as the movie.

Heh, I always thought he looked like Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey in Full House).

Is Surf Ninjas on DVD yet? I need some Tone Loc lovin.

I have this on saturn, its Street Fighter when you get right down to it. They didnt even change alot of the voices or special move graphics.

Why the hell is Akuma a normal character in the arcade one, but a secret one on the Saturn one? (I cant unlock him for some reason).

And who the hell is Blade.

It looked like a pathetic game to me when I viewed it in an arcade. I never cared for Mortal Kombat and this game was even worse (looking at least). Anyhow as for Guile being top tier... he deserves it. Guile was the best original World Warrior in my opinion. Once CE hit though, Vega dropped his shit like an atom bomb. Never will there be another like Vega, he was too damn good for anyone, anywhere.

You really shoun't make movies based on games or games based on movies....

Even worse is a game based on a movie based on a game...

except the Double Dragon game for NG... It was pretty fun...

sorry but i have to disagree. Double Dragon for NG was a really god aweful game.

the character designs looked like ass & it played really shotty compared to other 2D fighters of it's time.

you'd have to be a really hardcore NG fanboy to think DD for NG is cool imo.

I stole a copy of the Saturn version from Toys R Us many years ago and gave it to my friend Mike as a gag gift.
After he unwrapped it he threatened to beat me with it.

I have the Saturn version and think it's decent. GameFan gave the Saturn version some solid ratings (80, 82, 80?) and said it played differently from the actual Arcade game... that it was more like SSFIITurbo... and IMO they are right.

The controls were fine. The graphics, K, so they were rougher than a bear's ass... so what. I still enjoy playing as digitized Ryu, Ken, Guile, Sagat, Bison and Blanka -- bite me!

lol, the best thing about the game is the attract mode where it's introducing the characters and the actors. When it shows the clip of the Sagat, he ends up getting punched in the face by Ken. hahahaha

that and it's a world where Kylie Minogue can kick Jean-Claude Van Damme's ass. COMEDY.

The arcade version of Street Fighter: The Movie was the most pathetic attempt of a fighter I've ever seen. Also in the early arcade versions, when Ryu and Ken did their "hadoken" and "shoryuken" moves, they yelled out "fireball" and "dragon punch" instead. OY!!! :oh_no:

Yes it is, saw it on a portable dvd player on display at super walmart a few months ago.
