I wish he could duck and shoot up.

That is all.

I like the MM games quite a ways but... always felt the control was rather cumbersome, clunky, sluggish... w/e adjectives you wanna use. I understand you're controlling a hunk of metal but... it should be smoother.

I'm a big fan of the original, X and Zero series.

Unlike most, I didn't have a problem with X5 or X6, but X7 was total garbage.

I can't wait to see what they do with Zero 3.

When I bought the first MEGA MAN for NES at Kay Bee Toys I bought it paying $30.00 all in quarters and the guy behind the counter had to count the rows of $10.00 packets and dump them into the cash register. True Story. *Also I am selling my Mega Drive copy of Rockman Mega World for $66.00 Shipped anywhere in the USA. I was going to have this up "Officially" tomrrow in the Depot M99 "Video Game Blow Out" Sale, but since this is a Rockman/Mega Man Thread I'm jumping the gun. *I sell to whomever is interested and PMs me first seriously interested.

Other than that, I've played ROCKMAN most of my life and loved the series up until recently. I kind of dropped out of the Rockman playing sometime during X4 or X5 and didn't much care for the 3-D PSone games at all. *PULSE MAN Ownz him for free anyhow. ;)

***EDIT: Rockman MegaWorld now SOLD.

The original Megaman games were the best, the X series is good, but I don't like it as much as the original series, exe is 100% pure shit, Legends was meh, the only thing good that came out of that series was the servbots.

So we have 2 MM collections confirmed to be coming out this year, 1 for GC and PS2, and another for GBA, then we have the MMX collection which is rumored to come out this year and I've heard a lot about this from a friend of mine who told me a lot about upcoming Capcom releases.

For some reason ive never liked it, I put this down to being a Master System fan boy when young laughing at the drab graphics of the crap NES games my friends and family surrounded me in...I AM a NES an, this is just a side story from the past...

I got some enjoyment from the recent Zero series on GBA, apart from that the whole thing is a no-go personally, which i mildly odd becuse i'm a big fan of similar games like Pulsman & Shubibinman.......

IMO Rockman is difficult to control, the lack of motion annoys me.

Man, they need to make an arcade sequel to Rockma: Power Fighters, but like a sidescroller, I'd love to take Protoman and hand wily's ass to him in a decent arcade(emulated arcade) format.;)

Mega Man 2 is one of the greatest games ever created. Right now I'm trying to do a run through to see if I can do as well as that one guy who made that video of him tearing through that game with a quickness.

Aight my end now.

Got all 9 regular Megamans (I count Rockman & Forte on SFC as Megaman 9), and all 7 MMX's.

BTW if anyone's beat Rockman and Forte/Megaman and Bass on either SFC or GBA, I'm having a total problem beating Dynamo Man.

EDIT:
I forgot to mention I also have Rockman X3 for Sega Saturn, and Game Boy Megaman's 1,2, and 3.

BTW Ice Man pwnz.

I have all Mega Man 1-6 on my NES

My personal favorite was Mega Man 4. Very underrated, didn't live up to the glory that was MM2 and MM3. Yet had an interesting variety of characters...I thought Dr. Wily was well hidden in this game, I thought 'Maybe Dr. Wily isn't behind this" Yet Dr. Cossack was only a mere pawn in his scheme...

Dr. Wily is like Pinky and the Brain (except without Pinky)...too damn predictable...and always has the middle-man to get in the way

I've got all nine of the original series (R&F on SFC), the first 6 X series games , the two Zero series games, and the fifth original gameboy game.

Its been a long time since I've played Rockman and forte, but I do recall Dynamo Man being the hardest of the 8 masters. Could you tell me what part is giving you trouble, because there's no real sure-fire way of defeating him. In general you've just gotta dodge really well, and use Copy Vision to draw away his attacks, and hopefully damage him as well.

I'm a pretty big Mega Man fan. The original series is my favorite, but I like the X series and, to a lesser extent, Legends as well. I guess what I like best about Mega Man is the paper-rock-scissors approach to the robot masters and stealing their weapons to use against them.

Other than playing the games, I like to sculpt Mega Man figures.

Thing is, I know how to dodge his dashes and shit, but what really gets me is that Dynamo man can play mindgames with you about when he jumps back into that threshold of recovery. It's like you know he's going to it, but he plays the mindgame of randomness whenever he feels like it. So many a time, I've caught myself overguessing by firing copy vision in the wrong place a nanosecond before he jumps in his harness to recover. All the hard work gone down the drain. Consider yourself OwN3d if he recharges and you got no more Copy Vision left.

Since I never been to Wily Castle in R&F, I have heard that it's like Megaman 1 and X1, you fight the bosses as you go along in the stages instead of a big room with 8 teleportation capsules. Is that true?

I'm sooooooooo looking foward to these collection series, it also basically steered me away from buying the PSX versions (even though the Pocketstation minigames sound like an interesting bonus). Good year to be a MM fan indeed!

My fav's are MM2 and 3, and then the first MM; the arcade MM battle game (the first one, what was it, The Power Battles?) was also a pretty fun romp through when I finally found an arcade that had it (family trip to a resort in Pennsylvania with some of the best selection I've seen since the old days).

If any of you picked up the latest EGM, there's a good but short interview with the creator of MM. His answer about MM2 being classic platforming at it's best is so damn true. :)

The older Mega Man games rule. These new games suck, sorry.

NES

MM1 - Most difficult of the NES titles (no E tanks), unless MM6 is somehow more difficult (which I highly doubt)
MM2 - Most fun, best music, high replay
MM3 - Most "serious", and the longest, great music
MM4 - Also a lot of fun, great music
MM5 - Series started to take a dive (esp. the music)
MM6 - Haven't played through completely... seems, well... generic...

Game Boy

MMI - Very well-done game, challenging
MMII - Too easy
MMIII - Also very well-done, my fav of these 3
MMIV - haven't palyed
MMV - " "

SNES

MMX - Awesome in every way... a lot of effort was put into this game and it shows
MMX2 - A lot of fun... but marred by some serious slowdown
MMX3 - Excellent, maybe the best of the 3, but the music isn't as good as the others (the PC and Saturn versions have much better music though)
MM7 - Haven't played...

PSX

MMX4 - It's OK... but the series really took a dive
MMX5 - Ugh...
MMX6 - Ugh...

And anything else I either haven't played or don't care to comment on.

Play Mega Man 6 dude, it's really not that bad imho, I finished it earlier this week, was well worth it, some bosses were too easy...while others were a good challenge..still fun...but all and all its sweet..Especially having to fight bosses twice just to get everything (two boss doors in the same stage is odd, nice twist though)..nothing like the other Mega Man games...Im still waiting to try Mega Man 5. Mega Man 6 is not that hard at all, give it a spin

Well...I bought my import PS2 solely for Rockman X7...I'm a bit dissappointed, but the box art was worth it..I guess... Other than that, the X series is my favorite of the games, but 5-7 are the worst of the series with 1 and 4 being tops. I just wish they wouldnt relese the games in troves like they do. They simply dont have the charm they used to. After X4 the entire series (beisdes Rockman and Forte on the SNES) went downhill. Zero was a nice inovation, but not enough.

Oh! anybody have any information on the Rockman pack that is supposed to be on GC and PS2?

In megaman 7 how the fuck do you beat Dr Wily's second form?

I personally rely on the thunder bolt, and then after that's exhausted, the charged megabuster.

when he appears high, you must jump over the first energy ball, then immediately slide under the remaining ones. when he appears low, it is mostly a matter of jumping over them after attacking. It has been a while since I've played it so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but that battle, and the one before it stick out in my mind because of how tedious they were.

Pheh... rookies. I was teh original Mega Man fiend of the Neo-Geo.com boards...

as for myself, I am a fan of all the NES games, and X1-X4.
You could tell where things were going pretty much with X4, even thought it was good. Nothing good came with X5 and 6... and here we are, pretty much.

Still, everyone knows that MMX totally owned everything else when it came out. Damn, that game rocks. Especially since the soundtrack is like melodic power metal. :buttrock:

Yeah I noticed that too. There's something different and more intelligent about dynamo man's AI. Running out of weapon energy is a real problem. It helps if you purchase two items from Auto's shop, the "energy saver" (row 3, column 1) and "damage absorber" (row 3, column 2). The former helps by allowing you to use the weapon twice as many times, allowing for the occassional screw up. the latter allows you to regain weapon power whenever you take damage. That should take care of your weapon energy problem. the rest is just making sure to take him out before your life runs out.

Its true, because there is no central teleportation room, but they don't span levels like the original.

You shouldn't be worrying about Wily castle yet anyway because King's fortress is still between you and it. I couldn't beat perfect king (boss of 3rd and last level of king's fortress) with Forte for a long time, and I couldn't even make it past King Jetter (boss of King's fortress level 2) for a long time with Mega Man. In the end, I had to buy a rapid-fire controller to solve both problems. They're some hard levels, and make Wily's castle seem comparatively easy!

I played all the Megamans including the Rock Board and Soccer (though not in a while). I like Megaman for its music.

Here's a good question: In Megaman 7, Slashman's theme is a remix of 2 previous Megaman robots themes put together. Who are they?

I loved the Mega Man series a lot especially the Super Nintendo versions. Pretty fun, cool crisp clean colorful eye candy. More challenging than the NES versions. I never played Mega Man again after the last episode on the SNES. I don't miss him at all... how sad...

I did see Mega Man Collection for GameCube is out, maybe I should pick it up? Bet its pretty cool. Anyone out there own it? Wanna sell it? PM me.. we'll talk you know no big deal...

linda richman anyone?
