Well, I am a huge Yankee fan and part of the reason why I loved the recent world series champion teams was that they were a legitamate team. They were built up the way a team should be with mostly homegrown guys and smart trades and the free agents weren't just huge name guys, but guys that fit into the makeup of the team. (ie Tino and O'niel).

Now though the whole Evil Empire argument is starting to sound about right.

I do like the idea of having the best player in the game on the higest profile team, but they now have half of the highest payed players in the entire sport. That's just crazy.

And also, in regards to the Yanks Red Sox story, if some one wrote this as a movie, no one would believe it.

Watch Soriano next year... He will be on FIRE like Wells with the Jays.

Wells cost us the World Series.

Well, Boone lived out his destiny in a Yankee uniform, but now we have Alex to take over that spot...

This news definitly sucks because I am and always will be a Red Sox fan. The heart of the Yankees lineup is rediculous. Jeter, A-Rod, Giambi, Sheffield, Matsui, Posada. It will be interesting to see how the Yankees starting staff is after losing Clemens, Pettite, and Wells. Also if Contreras will be any good.

The AL East is by no means out of reach for the Sox. The addition of Schilling and Foulke will make the pitching better and we still have Nomar and Manny to knock in some runs.

The Yankees buy their way into the world series... Baseball deff needs a salary cap or something on each team cuz ive lost interested when the Yankees win the world series almost every year.

I hate to be the Orioles, Blue Jays, etc.... it is virtually impossible to compete with Red Sox (but they like to shoot themselves in the foot historically, so it is possible to overtake them), but the Yanks??? They can get the best player in the game and their lineup is just scary. Well, I am hoping that some NL team will beat them like last year, hehe.

I saw a quote yesterday A-rod made about Jeter... didn't remember what it said, but I thought he was just trash talking or something. Didn't know they were on the same team now!

Hi-larious. :tickled:

Let me just say... this will be good for baseball in the long run. The more lopsided things get, the better chance there is for a salary cap when this collective bargaining agreement ends. Sucks that it has to come to this, but...

Fucking Yankees, how much money can you spend until it's considered cheating? Their payroll is higher than the rest of the A.L East combined!!

Anyway , I'd rather have Aaron Boone, Soriano, and a comfortable Jeter than Arod, Migel Cairo(haha) and a stressed Jeter.

The YANKees are actually worse off then they were before Boone decided to join the NBA.

Oh well, they're old. With no minor league, they'll be in trouble soon.

O's in 2004!!!!!!!or 05.....

Damn the Texas Rangers... I live in Dallas, Texas and the Rangers suck ass. They are stupid to let go of A-Rod. They were stupid to sign him to such a huge contract, but hey now lets at least keep the franchise MVP player so we can save face... but no, hell no we give him to the Yankees. Damn Yankees. How I loathe George Steinbrenner and his croonies... Red Sox fans can blame the Rangers because we just handed the Yankees at least 2 or 3 more World Series Rings... yup, thats the Texas Rangers for ya', suck ass ball club with a moronic owner and berated fans who I hope will boycott the games for this season. Baseball is beginning to really suck.

I just saw the news myself. While I don't think A-Rod is necessarily going to help the Yanks win the pennant this year (bear in mind that the current Yankees roster is getting up there in age), the fact that these blockbuster trades seem to always go the Yankees' way does border on being unfair.

AHAHAHAHA Baseball is a joke and what the Yankees are doing to the sport is a farking shame!!! Of course if you are form New York you see no problem with how the league is run. I dont see whay Yankee fans even bother to tune in for regular games, I mean why not just wait till playoffs.

I think atheletes get paid far too much to begin with. Also it makes me sick to here athletes talking about winning championships but when ask to shave a few mill so the team can get better players they leave the team.

Oh again baseball sucks, at least till they find a way to make it fair.

On a related note how long will the Marlins bandwagon last? I say the first time they go under .500 the stands will be empty again

they need a salary cap like basketball, otherwise you don't think the lakers starting 5 would all be all stars with the money they have, even tho they tried to buy a championship this year but it's backfiring.
