I just want to thank Chris and his partner Brad for being KICK ASS when it comes to my Japanese CD needs. My recent order showed up today (took a little longer than I wanted and my impatience was getting the best of me, along with my worry that my order sank into the ocean or something). It was packed in such a way that the post office would have had to INTENTIONALLY beat the hell out of the box with the hook end of a crowbar and DIG into the the box to damage it, and even then it would have been questionable.

Time and again Chris amazes me with his ability to get some obscure, and RARE items for me.

I remember having a request for the LB2 AST in my sig for MONTHS and Chris contacted me out of the blue and was able to not only get that AST, but one of the OSTs (can't remember which I didn't have) and the LB2 Drama CD as well! He was then able to secure all of the SS64 ASTs/OSTs, and when he wasn't able to get the SS64 AST, he gave me a link to it on Amazon Japan and the 'kana needed to search for it if I wanted to look for it elsewhere! That's going ABOVE AND BEYOND in my opinion. No other store would do that for you.

My latest order was the Sakura Taisen Complete Song Box. It was printed in limited edition and stopped production the same year it was produced, 2002. Chris not only found a copy (via his amazing connection to the Hoteiya Japan company), but it was BRAND new. He was also able to get me the first 4 Drama CDs for Sakura Taisen, and as far as I know, they are no longer manufactured either (copyright is 1996). The other CD in my order was just to round out the vocal tracks that weren't included in the complete box and isn't all that rare, but he still came through for me.

I just wanted to thank Dash no Chris and his partner Brad (is he on the boards?) for doing an amazing job and hopefully help net him some extra sales. :D

If you want/need any Japanese CD, Dash no Chris and Hoteiyalv should be your FIRST stop.

I realize I make him sound like a saint, and it should be noted that he likely can't get EVERY CD you are looking for, but he and Brad will go out of their way to help you if they can.

If Dash No Chris can get me the 'Ninja Master's' OST I will bow down and worship him.

Well- I really want it, and so far both NeoBomberman and Evilwasabi have both let me down. :(

Chris seems to be able to get just about everything, but in terms of "out of print" it would depend, I guess, on HOW LONG out of print. I mean, the SakuTai Drama CDs aren't made anymore and he got them, so unless you try, you'll never know.

Sealed only, nothing used. He's affiliated with one store (that seems like it's pretty damn big). He's not like NBM in terms of going to stores. Sorry for being confused.

Thanks very much for the kind words, slerch.:D Brad's not on these boards (although he is the proud owner of a modest collection of AES and MVS miscellany), but I'll pass your message along to him.

I'll make an inquiry with our supplier and see what we can do.

Hoteiya Las Vegas is basically a Western extension of Hoteiya, a modest-sized CD/DVD/VHS shop in Atsugi City (in Japan's Kanagawa prefecture). Hoteiya supplies Hoteiya Las Vegas with all of our merchandise, so our ability to procure an item is based on Hoteiya's ability to do so. Since Hoteiya doesn't deal in used goods, neither does Hoteiya Las Vegas.

As far as newly-released items go, we usually don't have a problem sourcing these. Some items will have a low-print-run limited edition when they're first released -- depending on the popularity of the limited edition, these can either go very quickly (for example, the first pressings of the R.O.D. -READ OR DIE- anime DVDs were sold out to pre-orders before each vol. ever hit the shelves), or they might hang around for a while. Once in a while, an item may be released for sale in only a select few shops, or online only (for example, the Famitsuu DVDs) -- in this case, Hoteiya (and most other shops in Japan) get left out in the cold. Fortunately, this situation is pretty rare. Generally, just about any recently-released Japanese CD, DVD, or VHS tape can be obtained via Hoteiya Las Vegas.

With regards to older and/or out-of-print items, availability will vary from case to case. Some customers have ordered items so old that not only does Hoteiya no longer have them in stock, but the supply companies from which they receive their stock no longer have them either. At least once, though, Hoteiya has sold out of an item and reported that their suppliers will be unable to provide them with additional copies, but a month or so later have been able to track the item down via another supply company (I'm thinking here of the Last Blade CD that we finally managed to get for neojedi). Sometimes Hoteiya will be sold out of an item, but their supply companies have additional stock on hand. But many times, Hoteiya will have an item that's been hanging out on their shelves for years just waiting to be snatched up. This is most likely due to Hoteiya being a smaller-than-average shop in a smaller-than-average shopping district, so they're less likely to completely sell out of some items than, say, a bigger shop in Akihabara.

@DashK: if there's an item or items in particular that you're looking for, feel free to email us at orders@hoteiyalv.com and ask us for an availability/price check. Just provide us with the title (or a description) of the item (and the serial number, if you have it), and we'll check with our supplier and see if we can hook you up.

Many thanks again for your kind support and continued patronage, slerch!:D

LOL.

Chris-
You're welcome for the continued patronage! I will continue to buy from you, unless you eventually screw me over, which I doubt will ever happen.

And the 9+9=18 thing was a joke that I told at the last get together at Evil Mike's. Well, not really a "joke" in terms of a punchline, but a joke as in it was meant to be funny (much like being called Monkey Fucker and the Rasputin in my sig. Monkey Fucker came about because I told them they could call me anything they wanted, even Monkey Fucker, and I wouldn't care. Rasputin happened to be the ONLY person I won with in a tournament at Leepantalone's place, this my "sig of shame". Very sad, yet memorable.) Honestly I'm surprised SSS remembered it! :D

I'd tell the joke, but it 's outside the boundaries of good taste in terms of these boards. I have a sick sense of humor.

Anyway, if anyone wants to see the goodies I just bought from Chris, here they are:
Drama CDs and Sakura Taisen 2 OVA OST
Sakura Taisen Complete Song Box Front
Sakura Taisen Complete Song Box Interior
Sakura Taisen Complete Song Box Back

I had another interior pic, as it has a signature panel inside like the DC ST collection box, but it didn't take for some reason.

I spent all this morning and afternoon burning copies (don't want to ruin my originals) and ripping them as MP3s for my MP3 player :D

Yes, there is a Matrimelee OST. The part number for it is:

NFM-01

If Chris can't get it for you, I can give a couple of other places that can supply your needs, but I'd like to give Chris the chance to supply it for you if he can get it.

Yeah, well blame my friend for taking 8 months to send it to me. It's on my site, and I should have the other one next week.

Unfortunately, the OST CD for Matrimelee was sold thru very limited avenues of distribution -- it was not made available to the majority of Japanese retailers, including Hoteiya. I have yet to pick this one up, myself. I know NeoTheranthrope is also interested in this CD. I believe NCS still has some of these in stock. I'll be placing an order with them this week (which will include this CD) -- if you like, I can order an extra one for you and PM you when it arrives (it's all of 15 mins from my place to yours, so driving the CD over to you shouldn't be any problem). Would Decepticreep also be interested in one of these?

Not really. Decepticreep is more into KoF soundtracks.
