Which Final Fight?

What a silly question. One of course. Final Fight 2 and 3 just didn't keep the cool factor alive, and certainly became stale and Capcom was unable to re-hash the series and keep updating an aged engine. Capcom failed at keeping many of its cornerstone franchise series' fresh and cool, aka, Street Fighter 2 (anyone?)...
Final Fight suffered the same fate. Final Fight One is fantastic, but that is where the fun ends and the (why the hell did I spend four quarters on this shit) begins. No kidding. Somebody actually said that before, of course they were not playing Final Fight 2 or 3, they were actually playing that Aerosmith Generation X shooting game in the arcade, and it was pretty hilarious. He didn't mean to make me laugh obviously, because he gave me a dirty glance. That was my cue to duck out of the situation and go find me an empty MVS...

Final Fight 1 is the only one in the matters to me. I didn't care for #3 and the girl fighter Maki is the only reason to like Final Fight 2 IMO... oh yeah, and a cameo of Chun-Li eating at a Hong Kong restaurant.

I put my vote on Mighty Final Fight, it is so damn fun..and sits right next to River City Ransom, Renegade, and Double Dragon perfectly...
Yet I wanna see Final Fight Guy and Final Fight CD on this poll too...yet Final Fight Revenge on Saturn...hm I dunno...a 3D FF was not such a great idea..yet rare as hell now ironically

Plus I loved the GBA verison of Final Fight One (Cody with SFA3 outfit was a nice touch)

The original Final Fight. I don't think Final Fight Guy should be included because it's the exact same thing as Final Fight. Just Cody was replaced by Guy.

You know, there are times where I listen to your opinion, and you are *so* sure that you're right, that I actually wonder when I like a game you don't... like RB2, KOF2k2, and MOTW. But, when I read this shit, I know that you're just a crazy old man. SOR2 beats FF by a mile.

Being that I played Final Fight 2 years before I played Final Fight 1, Final Fight 2 is whats it for me. Great music, great graphics, great main characters and great bosses. It had it all for me. And with the SF2 cameos in the background that just sealed it(i was introduced to ff2 during the heyday of sf2). I like FF1 and 3 but they don't do it for me like part 2 does and thats even with Guy being my fav FF character.

Although it's pretty obvious that the arcade version of FF1 can't be beat, im going to have to give the very underrated Final Fight 3 second place in my book. Sure it was kind of uninspired, but the girl Lucia, who played like king was fantastic. And the game had some what of a combo system. With Guy I could jump in with a down+punch, p,p, forward forward punch x3, qcf punch. Heh cheap thrills.

final fight is the best side scrolling beat 'em up bar none. SOR2 has way less balance and 'weight', even though it's alot of fun. Its not suprising the guy that made SF2 was the one behind the original FF. There are actual combo's in the game - you need 'some' measure of skill to beat the game - I feel its a perfectly rendered comic book world.
People went down on the SNES version like a ton of bricks - I can understand this when it comes to the US version that replaced Roxy for some ridiculous punk guy. But the Super Famicom game was probably one of the best games ever released or converted to home console.
The whole thing worked perfectly. Looking/playing Sengoku 3, with its deeply ininspired bad guys, I'm left wondering what went wrong. Good side scrollers have been done very well over and over (especially capcom ones), why could the NeoGeo not recieve ONE single good side scroller?
By the way, Rushing Beat 2 was really cool for its time too. The Ninja character was killer.

Final Fight 1 definetly gets my vote on this.
FF 2 and 3 where good but they just couldn't compare to the original.
