Guys help me out here, While I own/have owned 98-01 (had 99) I just cant seem to get into it like some of the other games like MotW and LB2. Both of those games instantly hooked me but the KOFs just seem to be lacking that "certain something" that makes me want to play these to the fullest extent. Is there something wrong with me...
.
Please make things clear for me, make fun of me, or whatever.
Spike Relax. I know the feeling but Correct me if im wrong here,
- like A 25cent gumball- the KOF series is losing its taste rapidly.
Man for them programmers and Character design artists- pulling a new rabbit(kof) out of the hat each year Is DAMN TOUGH, especially if u are desperately looking for ideas to keep the Game FRESH.
(the creation of the new "ASH" Hero design Is an example of this "desperation" IMHO. what a mistake. either they ran outta time or one to many artists worked on his creation)
there has been constant arguing about this subject in other threads as well, for some more than others, feel the same way as you do. - it needs more than an injection but maybe a whole new game built from the ground up- (hardware limitiations???)
that would mean major changes and it looks like they or most of its Fans dont want do go that route.
Dude, as each year KOF gettin Bigger with more moves and characters- backgrounds etc:gameplay IMHO, suffers in the end- KOF2K3 has come out and Im already overlooking it to *sigh*.............2K4.
Dont get me wrong- I still play KOF, but not with the anticipation ive had for them in the past- now when a New KOF is on the scene my attention span dosent last for more than 30 minutes- and I end up going back to MOTW,LB2 or SF3, even an older KOF like 96,98.................
IMHO, most people know deep down that KOF series peaked in 1998, and while the other KOF games afterwards have been somewhat average almost like "SIMS game add-ons", MOTW, LB2, have that freshness (characters graphics, gameplay) to them that make them true sequels.
