what current bands are washed up has beens that should have died years ago?
no.1 position definetly goes to Metalica - that band has been leaking for years. What a shit band they have become. Its unbelievable

Korn is another. 8 or 9 years ago they where inexplicably amazing and are now a joke of their own design - a sub-par new metal band.

There are more - II just can't think of 'em at the moment but those two are the most dissapointing for me.

N*Sync were so hot, but now when you look at the artists that are still in the industry, like Lance and Justin, they are just destroying the memory of what made them great. It's just the wilfull desecration of their back catalouge. Some agent must be getting rich :shame:

They were once good :(

Man, I agree 100%

Homework was ridiculous, but Discovery? What a fucking joke.

The newest Arab Strap album was shite too.

Oasis: They thought they were the she shit @ first...now they're just shit

Radiohead: Started off as a deep/artistic/cerebral band...they got TOO carried away with that image to the point of no return...(off key singing, pointless lyrics, etc)

Limp Bizkit: with the resurgence of rap's popularity in the late 90s to early 00s Limp makes it into the scene by suppliying the mainstream white demographic with a badass image...only this image is greatly compromised by Fred's pussy-ass gallamanting with the likes of uncool losers like Ben Stiller, Polly Shore, Hugh Hefner, etc...and their new shit licks more ass than ever, BTW.

Kid Rock: Same as above, with every breath he draws, he sucks more ass...he's become a real life version of the "Party Posse" as far as I'm concerned....

Eminem: Mad lyricism abound in his old shit, when he was underground his stuff was amazing...now he does nothing but churns out wigger anthems about being a white trash piece of shit, how his mom sucks, and how fags are uncool, before he goes onstage and hugs one...wtf...

What the hell.....IMO :

Discovery > Homework

Blur have fallen off, they still do good stuff, but the ultimate pinnacle of Blur-Blur is long gone.

I disagree. I feel Blur has grown over the years into one incredible band. Their sound has changed, but they're still essentially Blur, and that's what is important.

Think Tank was excellent.

Fat of the Land was pretty good, but Prodigy Experience and Jilted were much better, IMHO. And now? Damn, I don't even want to talk about the trash they're cranking out now.

Foo Fighters

I have to disagree there, I think the Foo Fighters have become the greatest pop-rock band of our generation. They've never made a bad album.

As for the washups, lets see:

Jurassic 5

Aerosmith

STP

The White Stripes

Oasis

Puddle of Mudd (I've always hated these guys, they are the most untalented bunch of ripoffs I've ever heard. They're just shit, plain and simple.)

Fuckin A, good topic

Ministry- In the late 80's they were the cutting edge of industrial music. Seething guitar riffs combined with electronic knowhow and raspy grinding vocals. Then the end drew near, Psalm 69 came out, and it started to suck. 3 or 4 good songs and a bunch of metal. After that, forget it, Ministry became one of the worst bands in the world. Not that I hate metal, it just isn't what Ministry is supposed to be. Shows you what heroin can do to you :oh_no:

Depeche Mode- My second favourite band of all time, and at one time the leaders in the new wave electronic sound. The last album was totally boring and uninspired, and Dave Gahan's solo album is complete shit. Ever since Alan Wilder left the band, DM just hasn't been the same :(

Front Line Assembly- What happened here. Bill Lieb used to have his finger on the pulse of what the industrial community wanted. I think too many side projects (especially Delierium) have taken up too much of his time. He needs to refocus on his bread and butter FLA. Most of the more recent FLA efforts have been weak to say the least....

The Cure- Still one of the best bands in the world, but Robert Smith doesn't seem to want to do anything anymore. They are playing a show in the US in May, but it is just one date. There hasn't been an album of all new material in 5 years. Either break up, or start kicking ass again. Bloodflowers couldn't have taken that much out of you :(

Skinny Puppy- Sporadic shows and a couple of weak singles are the only offerings from Puppy in the last 7 years or so, and before that their last album The Process sucked dick. Way to experimental and unorganized. I guess the death of Dwayne Goettel really fucked them up?

I'm sure there are tons more, but those are the other ones that come to mind.

Qube- I completely agree (I love the Cure and Skinny Puppy) Im a huge robert smith fan, and Ill listen to anything he does, but the last album seemed like a parody.

Im upset with Download, their first three albums were great, really really good industrial stuff, but there has been almost nothing worthwhile since......

I think Morrissey needs to get off his ass, reunite with Johnny Marr and play some old man music before they get too senile to do anything. They severly need each other.

Hey, easy on the Prodge. Yeah, the Baby's Got A Temper single isn't the greatest (despite having a thoroughly amazing video), but Liam himself even said he wasn't happy with it and is supposedly fucking with the incredibly late album Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned. We'll see what happens.
Yes, Jilted and Experience completely own though...far better albums than Fat Of The Land.

#2 goes to Offspring.

They started out fuckin aewsome now every release gets worse.

Some may say Green Day but I like what they evolved into, true they left their punk roots but they still make amazing music and kick ass live.

Don't forget Pearl Jam...once Eddie Vedder rented out his vocal chords to Scott Stapp they have went downhill.

Definately Stone Temple Pilots. Sad to say it, but it was coming.

I love my Marilyn Manson to the end of time, but even if he thinks his stuff is really 'the new shit' someone has gotta stand up and admit Manson may be just a tad bit past his prime.
