G4TV: suxorzz or not??

Ok - alot of the stuff that comes on G4 is pretty crappy main stream sorta BS.

However, I really enjoy some of the shows - mainly some of the icons episodes. I thought that the one about the videogame crash (coming on tonight at 3:00 a.m.) was pretty sweet.

Also, that guy Victor whatshisname (the tall sorta goofy one) admitted to loving SNK games. But the Tommy Tallarico guy called CVS2 a crappy button masher - wtf? Not that it's my favorite game in the world - but it's no button masher unless you whore it out with the 1 button super special fag mode.

Oh, also, that show with the Diane Mizota chick is pretty decent sometimes (a few decent countdowns here and there).

Anyways, what do you guys think about G4?

G4 has some good shows, icons is good, game on is funny as shit, g4tv.com is alright, starcade owns, the old arena with wil wheaten was so fucking funny and pulse is alright, the rest i don't really like. tommy tallarico is a dumbass, i don't know how he got that job. the guy from blister is funny as shit too.

They have some good specials. The rest of the lineup is lacking though, especially that Portal show which rips off MST3K in an unholy manner. Judgement Day sucks too, they are both ass reviewers, though Tallarico is the worse of the two. He needs to stop emulating John Stamos and get out of the early 90's.

Tech TV's X-Play is a far superior product, even if it is only one show.

It's just fucking comedy to watch somebody play Popeye with a serious look on their face.

The only really good show is Cinematech. Don't be surprised to see Neo games on there once in a while, they throw it some love.

The Japanese Gaming culture special was good too, very insightful!

Other than that, a wasteland of vapid garbage.

I don't seem to get that channel, but I have DirecTV, so maybe that's the reason why. I wouldn't mind watching it a little bit. Right now one of the newest channels DirecTV has is the NFL channel and that's a fantastic channel to watch at almost any time.

I don't really like the channel myself... mostly because deep down I know they wouldn't know Alien Soldier from Gunstar Heroes.

I have Cox digital as well and I get both of these channels. They are offered in their digital packages. G4 is part of the Variety package, and TechTV is part of the sports and info package.

Neither are as noob-friendly as Tekken, Soul Calibur, or any of the other 3-d fighters (sans VF4: Evo), IMO.

and every EA game he gives a high ass score and gushes about how good it is, i think he's paid off.

he doesn't seem to like nintendo either, he gave mario sunshine like a 4, and victor gave it a 9.

I just saw this cool "Icons" today about megaman, that i hadn't seen before.

OMG!!?? A fucking 4?? Dude, granted it wasn't the pinnacle of Mario's career .... a fucking 4??!! That's just stupid. I don't think this dude actually plays these games. I think he watches the intro to see how many pretty the graphics are and then goes from there.

So from my understanding... they hate fighters, great, just what we need...more ways to kill the fighting genre with two boobs fuckin it up for the next generation of gamers. At this rate, I can see a couple of 15 year olds, 10 years from now. Saying, 'Fighter's suck". Is that what they want? Is that the moral value we want for our future? To forget their roots in WHY they started gaming?

Tallarico is a jackass it seems. However, the other guy Victor seemed to have his shit straight for the most part. Honestly, I don't know what Tommy Tallarico is doing there - he doesn't really seem all that knowledgeable about gameplay. I think he's just there because upper management thinks his personality is marketable (read: flashy, obnoxious, and ignorant - yet strangely compelling to Tekken-playing, button mashing uber-nubs).

Well living in a washed up MTV generation of snotty kids world...I can say that Talldicko or whatever was chosen for his stupid "American Idol" appeal apparently, Why can't people just be positive. Instead of making everything so drama "The good cop, bad cop" scenario is getting old.
