Yep, it's my new baby! I love, love, love those great gimmicky shooters! You know: The ones with the real time ships and FMV backgrounds! Yeah, I love that stuff! That great cheesy illusion like you're flying through CG rendered invironments, accompanied by mosty bad plotlines, and even worse english acting (thank god for language selection).
Yep, I miss the old days of being impressed (at first) by this form of technology. Anyone remember the original Silpheed? Crappy shooter, but at first, it rigged!!! Well, Laseractive is full of this stuff. Some bad, some good, and some horribly short. The plus side: it's mostly cheap!
Now, the games I bought my Laseractive for: FMV action-reaction games A-LA Dragon's Lair style. Never played Dragon's lair? Shame on you! Go buy the 20th anniversay BOX with Space ACE and Dragon's Lair 2 included (they pause in-between every move though)! Anyway, the game I bought my system for: Road Prosecutor, AKA Road Blaster, Road Avenger. The grand Daddy of all FMV games. Nothing like taking out the evil 80's road gange "The Black Crows" in revenge for them killing your wife, and on the wedding day for that matter! Bastards! I will crush you!!!
Yep, bad-ass game. Not to mention Triad Stone AKA Strahl. My second fave FMV game. Fook Sewer Shark and Night trap. Play real FMV games!! Plus I get to play laserdiscs, and watch My THX Star Wars trilogy (pre-Special Edition, but screw you! I still dig the Special editions, minus a few moments) over and over again with no risk of the tape breaking (I hate VHS, even though I grew up with it. Give me DVD and Laserdisc please). Not to mention the only true version of Vampire Hunter D: 1985 Un-edited "Videodisc".
Yep. I'm a dork. Back to the Road.
