Goddamn, I was SO close today. Had him down to one bar with my first guy, then watched him destroy my entire army of Oolongs. Arrrrrrrrgh, so close. Anyone here ever beaten him?

I beat him in my local arcade back in the 80s

I was disappointed cause the game just started over again from the beginning- you just have to fight the fat guy again

This game and Legend of Kage were two of my favorites- along with Mat Mania.

Delay your hits. Sounds odd, but instead of tapping the button when he gets near, delay half a second then do it. Works on the Arcade version, but is very hard to time. For some reason its really easy to do this on the GBA version.

I beat him, but only once, and only with a good piece of luck... that delayed-hits thing Rain mentions rings a bell... I remember that there was some sort of cheap tactic to beat most opponents except Blues (or was that "Bleus"?), stick down+kick for a quick low kick, then a few punches, then down+kick, or something like that...

For a long time, the C=64 port was the closest thing to the arcade version and I played it to death... wasn't there some Choi-like big jump move as well?

Anyway, great game. Too bad part 2 sucked a bit.

For someone I have never spoken with, I sure agree with you alot. I think you may be my un-conjoined-not-quite-siamese twin :annoyed: That's crazy....

split punch!

hit him with split punches (Down-Back+Punch) until he's down to four health points.... and then start doing it again when you're sure you're not going to get backed into the corner, because once he's down to 3 points he goes NUTS.

That's really all I could do, just split punch over and over and hope I get more hits in on him. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... you gotta be pressing the button pretty fast.

I believe I saw a more reliable strategy in a MAME recording, I'll have to watch it again.
