Played this (jpn import) yesyerday at my friends house.

:drool_2: OMFG this game is cool. The graphics are AMAZING.
Now I want an HDTV (my friend has a 50 somethin in. HD) The intro is so cool its like a movie preview.

Controlls are good, the fighting seems good and shooting is cool.
It set up that you push X button for actions like climb.
The shoulder buttons are for fighting hand to hand.
I think Y draws the gun? Once your gun is drawn you hit a button to target and A button switches targets.

Only got to play for an hour or two so I will have to post more as I get a better impression.

"he started it"!
Thats fucking pathetic. how old are you, 8.
He didn't "start" anything, you were just dumb enough to feed into the temptations of "teh drama" . well, keep it to yourself so threads won't get sent to the war room.

um...yeah so this game is pretty cool....

Sorry about deviating from the path doc.

I dunno, a linear FPS action game:spock: :eek_2: I read the IGN article they had on Breakdown, and they weren't too impressed. But regardless, it looks nice enough so I'm sure I'll give it a rent, but I'm keeping my expectations as low as possible.

I think I might too. But if I don't let us know, magician. :)

The main only reason I'm very interested in this game is that it looks like somebody is actually trying to do a 'in spirit' followup to Super Spy. It would be nice to play another game like that. Of course, Super Spy wasn't known for it's super non-linear path structure, either. So the review doesn't tell me much. It tells me that I wished the reviewers played Super Spy so they can let me know how it compares to that experience. :)

Is this the game where if you reserve it at Gamestop you get Dead to Rights for free?

You are correct! The Dead to Rights offer is also valid at EB if I am not mistaken.

Here's an interesting fact...Breakdown is the game that OXM Magazine kept comparing to SNK's SUPERSPY a few issues ago.

Ive played this a bit more here are my impressions:

Cool game. I love it but I can see how you might not like it. Some cool combos but the fighting is sort of repetitive. But I have gone through several transformations to become more powerful.
The targeting system is pretty good. The auto aim allows you to run and gun without losing sights.

The Camera is good, but when you crouch it is hard to look up and down. It is kind of at a weird level which isnt the best angle.

1 really annoying thing:
you have to pause for a second and stand there to pick up a weapon/ammo. Kind of a problem when you are being shot at!
Move damn it why are you so slow?!?

There are a lot of save points and if you die you begin from the last point. Some tougher areas in the beginning, since you cant really fight yet. You may be playing one area several times to get it right, but I found it less annoying than Splinter Cell. In that game I would get spotted by a searchlight or something and play one area 10 times!

Good
+Great graphics
+Fairly good combat system
+Cool characters/ story so far
+Interesting concept for a game

Bad
-Camera could use some tweaking on "crouch"
-Sort of repetitive fighting system
-Pick up items slowly! Why cant I just grab and keep running?!?

I wonder if you get Dead to Rights right away or if you have to wait until the game comes out.

Anyway, this game looks very nice, and it's by Namco, so I have confidence in it's quality.
