We all know by now howmuch some of you guys love it, I'm getting enough of those topics personally. I'm fairly sure many people know where to go to get info on this gaming miracle.

I don't have anything to ''rom players'', but I'm sure there are Xbox forums that are willing to talk about this. Unrelated Topics are getting floated with Xbox EMU topics.

*Edit* Nevermind just saw the thread.

How can you be so sure they are using it for roms and not to install Linux or any other homebrew app on it?

There are many legit reasons for owning a modded X-Box.

Take a look at the pictures in the thread. What do you think they are doing with their systems when it shows MAME installed?

Either way, I don't care that the threads are there. Wish people would use the search function before posting things that appeared on the baord 2 days ago, but it happens with other topics as well, so the Modded X-Box thing falls into that category.

People are smart enough to be able to mod an X-Box but not smart enough to run a search on a forum... :loco:

Have there really been ANY useful polls? It was funny at first, but it lost steam quickly. I hope the polls fade soon...

I don't know, but frankly I'm tired of polls. There's nothing more irritating than clicking a thread that shows as being the most recent post on the main page and being taken to some oldass poll that somebody voted in which got bumped.

I'd bone them all. I don't think I could make a choice on something like that. Picking scabs to get it wet is the best!

They're fairly easy to avoid. They're also well labeled, no one is forcing you to read them.

Meh...

...as long as folks are not posting direct links to teh romz, and do not tout having a modded Xbox like it's "the next best thing to sliced bread" (i.e. - fanboys:emb: ), then I don't see what the big deal is.

Neither the GC, PS2 or DC have as good an emu scene as the Xbox, and as a result more and more people are posting about it. Again, as long as nobody posts direct links, then there's no harm in discussing the goodness. Is there:eye: :eye: ?

mod the x-box, fill it with romz, have a complete neo collection for free. where's the loss? where's the problem? i mean with all the collectors who gouge prices, $hawn selling it ever higher, and the market beefing itself up on a constant basis why would anyone other than a complete moron buy the games? sure it's nice to have a collection, but to have a perfectly playing game on the x-box that plays the exact same as the neo version with all the same stuff whats the point of putting money into carts? sure i buy the games, but i constantly question why i do so when all i need to do is get a modded x-box, and burn some cd's.

why else is there a reason for a 120-200 gig HD in a console gaming system?

besides people admit it all the time.

sure it's nice to have a collection, but to have a perfectly playing game on the x-box that plays the exact same as the neo version with all the same stuff whats the point of putting money into carts?
because its right to buy the original.... and wrong to play without pay. *unless the arcade freeplay is set... of course).

thats fine if thats your (or other's) way, but I personally will buy my own copy.
I like to have an actual.

but i constantly question why i do so when all i need to do is get a modded x-box, and burn some cd's.
it feels better to have the original :)

Unrelated is turning into Orochinagi forums if it keeps this up  I should have made the poll different, saying ''Stop the Modded Xbox ROM loving threads'', if its still more saying No, then that is really sad. This is neo-geo.com, I remember when everyone was against publicly loving ROMs.

Wrong, many of the people who post about having ROMS or modded Xboxes here actually own some form of Neo hardware. Most of the people at Orochinagi have never owned a Neo, and at best buy some ports.

Thats treu, but allot of people that were against the ROMS comming out a week or before the new release are now playing the new released games. Again, I have nothing against ROM players or playing ROMS for that matter, but Unrelated are getting floaded with them. And it are the same people who objected to it a couple of months ago, now claiming its all good cause it is on the Xbox and not on your PC.

No, I will not cease creating Xbox related threads.

I'm a software filter-lovin', hardware filter-usin' mofo. Why play the old-school goodies the ancient way, when I can play everything from the 2600 to the Sega CD in uber-tasty software/hardware filter enchanced, component video outputed, high-definition runnin', cream delight?

Don't worry chohan, the last major emu release for the Xbox was Surreal 64. Now that there's little to nothing new to expect from the Xbox scene's porters, the Xbox talk should begin to die down a bit around here.

A Modded XBox is probably the main reason ROMZ are so accepted here now.

Piracy doesn't become so widespread/popular/accepted untill it becomes very good and very easy.

Before you had to build a HTPC or a MAME cab to really enjoy ROMZ to the fullest, now you can send away your $180 XBox to some dude with an extra $150 and you'll get back a modded system with a big ass HD that you can fill with ROMZ and play them on your TV with filters no less. All with good pads and joysticks to boot.

Now that it's becoming so good and so accessable more and more people are doing it, and even more want information on how to do it.

Exactly JH

When I registered at xbox-scene eight months ago I was member # 33777. Now there's almost 100,000 members.

Just a few months ago only a few people had known about the Xbox mod, now my friend's (who work in various EB's and other game stores) tell me of people who walk in off the street asking about the mod on a daily basis. I don't remember the DC emu scene getting this kind of attention.
