Yeah, but it wasn't English and sealed. It's a PIA to find English titles and then to have someone actually keep the spine? Good luck. It still went way too high, but I can find almost every JP Neo CD game within a month or two at most. US stuff - good luck. Wicked small volume and US gamers are idiots when it comes to maintaining their stuff, unlike the Japanese. Second, it's not like stores have US stuff. They have import stuff out the ass but ask for a US Metal Slug 1 with spine and they'll just laugh in your face.
I think the Neo CD price list is shit. It doesn't get updated and prices for US stuff are typically more in the real world for the rare stuff like MS1 and 2 and Pulstar compared to their JP counterparts..
As to the US versus JP and value, I treat it the same as the AES carts. The English MS carts have a much higher value than the JP ones. Personally, I just like the instructions in English. Just a personal preference. I feel the same way with my AES games. I'll only get a game in JP format if there was never a US release. In fact the only JP games I will own are blazing star, shock troopers:2nd squad, and iron clad (I can't believe how many people actually think this got a US release). Everything else is in English. Not saying that the numbers are right, but the AES price guide seems to suggest that most people agree with me.
PS I wouldn't consider myself so much a Neo CD collector as an AES man who has drawn a line in the ground. HOwever, those front loading Neo CD units are pure class. The only thing I think can compare is high end audio components.
