duolon, i was calling him top tier before.. im now inclined to raise that to god tier

which puts him about the level of geese in svc, and i am quite sure he belongs there.

why??????????? a new trend has emerged (and check the sbo2 qualifiers to see the evidence that this actually is the case 10 duolons as opposed to 5 benis the next most popular), choose duolon and ABUSE his fucking moves... interested? read on...

an example team i saw at least 3 ppl using tonight was dou, iori and k.

the way you use duolon is this, you confuse with his teleports, evades, moves, whatever (and hes really adept at this, bad point no.1) you then hit with his bb combo either from a c.LK or a j.LK (or maybe a j.HK) from there you do the last hit of the 4 hit special or combo whatever it is (i dont use the scum so dont ask me) then as they are stunned on the last hit you tag in....

BOOOM fucking free LDM/SDM whatever combo with either iori or k. this will leave you with one character about 80-90% dead..

so ok you think thats sorta par for KOF but no sorry thats not the case, why?? well firstly this isnt hard to do for a good tech player (see about every japanese player, they have amazing execution)... secondly the new one timer and forced tag system means duolon can continue the onslaught and grab the next character off a forced tag (the one that leaves you open just as you land) basically meaning you eat the whole fucking thing again...

duolon has stopped being a character and is now nothing more than a quad damage power up ala quake 3. hes a tool for getting huge ldm/sdm combos off all the more effective for his incredibly confusing teleport/mixup/confuse game, command throw which might possibly be an abuseable infinite and also perfect against forced tags and his crazy combos...

at this rate this game isnt in for a much better future than svc it would seem.

a game with abuseable shit like this means you are forced to use duolon or fight an underdog battle which means fans will leave this in droves in the cades...

I have face many so-called Duo Lon expert & I say he's not that confusing, tricky or hard to beat. Specially not with my Billy, coz Duo Lon cant get pass my Billy's stick.

I think I know what beez is saying? For every arcade there are those 2 or 3 freaks that can perform every combo perfectly and live and breath the damn game... and he must have triple the freaks or more lol

btw is dulon stronger than foxy I thought she was the meanest lezbominator ever Foxy was the meanest overpowered chara ever I have no chance against her at all....

put it this way, 90% of the guys using duolon in monte carlo are pulling off his combos 90% of the time, make a mistake, say goodbye to at least one of your team..

Tekken 4 had 2 versions(they toned down Jin) and Virtua Fighter 4 had 3 versions(versions A, B and C.) Why can't SNKP do this?

this is gonna be the ultimate cheese tournament. That doesn't make any sense at all. You can't be mad at the players cuz if its there then you gotta use it. SNKP oughta be ashamed.

Of course with time Duo Lon won't be as badass as he is now cuz they'll have tactics to take him down(it naturally happens with every game with an overpowered character) but it sucks that at this tourney its gonna be all about Duo Lon. Hopefully though at the rate people are whoring duo lon they'll find an anti duo lon.

I hope you can escape some shit like that! If its inescapable, you can consider KOF2k3 DONE! I can't wait to see the duo lon vs duo lon matches in SBO2. I guarantee its gonna be alot of poking and turtling cuz they know if they make one mistake that one of their duo lon's is screwed then they'll lose their precious match cuz their other 2 characters couldn't possibly handle duo lon. This KOF tourney at SBO2 is gonna be real fucked up.

I like this game, it brought back the old KOF feeling once i first played it but I guess once you get in depth with this monster of a game it all goes downhill.

see in the 100's of kof2k2 games ive played ive never really come up against every character that i thought, fuck overpowered... ive seen pretty much every character played effectively too..

what about the dreaded bc combos?

but still much respect for 2k2 screw the graphics whores gameplay is tight I didn't like it that much at first but it grew on me one of my favs

My team almost always involves Duo Lon and King.
Why? Cause if you want to compete down here, those are the first assholes you should learn.

By the way, when I play competitively, my team is basically Duolon, Daimon and Iori, and yes, the competitive gameplay has become like an excuse to combo an offensive tag to another combo with LDM. Being able to tag into Daimon's LDM is pretty nice, also pretty abusive. And offensively tagging into Iori is simply amazing... you can even perform the back+B crossover and it WILL be part of the combo. My typical Iori offensive tag combo is him entering, crossover back+B, standing B, forward+A, forward+A, LDM. Simply terrible.

yeah that is the combo you do with iori right at the start (why do you fucking start with stocks?????), the thing is you get all the damage from that + plus duolons combo that start it (about 6 hits) + the tag hit.. = about one whole character

One thing I don't get is, is SNKP blind? These characters are so overpowered that it almost looks intentional.

Duo Lon no doubt can be very powerful.I have seen a duo lon player dominating at the arcades until one guy came in to challenge him.He played some mind with kyo and finally landed his final showdown LDM which stopped the duo lon player's offence.The duo lon player played more defensively since and lost the match.His K' and clark also lost to kyo.
Kyo might seem toned but his mushiki seems to have some powerful properties this year which makes kyo quite strong.Duo lon is beatable provided you know the player's patterns.Duo lon is not very good in the air though.

The duo lon + Kyo combination can be deadly after you tag duo lon out and bring kyo in to perform his FS LDM in combo.Kyo's FS can be comboed off a CA.
Cb->Ca->FS LDM.

No offence to jp players, but when it comes to kof, i havent seen one good video of them playing it right, the vids i've got (even tourney vids) they use cheap characters & they still don't use the character correctly. They just play it like its super turbo with a relentless attack, even in the super battle opera it was a terrible tourney. Best players i've seen are off the kofeffect board, china, singapore & taiwan, korea have some decent players.

I can get lots of japanese vs vids to & they just play the game not to its best advantage. If anyone thinks otherwise then could you show me the way to see there best play, i mean, i can't exacly say they all don't play well can i, there have to be some good vids about.

Also here's a funny note, why is the us so big & i aint seen 1 vid of em playing kof hmmm.

KOF isn't very popular in KOF, and those that do like KOF don't play it competitevly. Why? Who knows, some say that Capcom is for the Jock gamer while SNK is for the fan. I do see a noticeable difference in the mentality of most SNK game fans and most of the other competitive communities in the U.S.

I could post about tournies all day in this board and other U.S. sites dedicated to SNK games and get no replies. Even if I chocked up a base prize.

yeah blackenstein pmed me over at srk....

lb1, kof2k2, rbff2 and maybe others are super tight. games like that are worth keeping alive as much as sf3:3s, any of the alphas or the earlier sf games. it pisses me off that ppl wont acknowledge that. yeah kof 01 or lb2 or whatever is broken/cheesy/crappy whatever but there are MORE snk games worth keepin alive purely becoz snk has released more games that have fanbases.. maybe not in the us but they could get them started over there if ppl are really desperate for fighters that are fun and tight...

ppl bitch about the balance of svc but then mvc2 has a place in evo.. kof03 is in sbo2 but rbff2 isnt in it..? afaiac that is a fucking travesty...
