I'm seeing these "waves" on the side of color edges, could this possibley be because of the power? All I'm giving it is +5 through an AC adaptor, would an arcade PSU fix this problem? If yes, what PSU would you reccomend?

Sounds like flairing of peak whites. "Bright" images flair or streak to the RHS. This can usually be reduced by increasing the monitor crt screen voltage. Thats the bottom pot on the flyback transformer. Caution- high voltage- dont mess with it if not sure of the safety issues.
Its unlikely to be psu related imho.
