There probably has been praise thrown on this sucker, i'd never listened or been privy to such as i had dismissed the idea, however...

I think it was totally freeking awsome. Time and time again the quotes come out "PS2 has lame graphics"......which is completely unsubsatnciated as games like this show. The world you roam blew me away, particularly towards the end......though that is its one misgiving.

I beat it today, which was the first day i ever played/saw it , didn't die once. We're not talking long either, perhaps 6 hours, to a grade B level. I'm no whizz, any standard games player could whip its ass too eassily, but damn was it amazing en-route.

Worth owning for sure, loved it.

The last zone (I forget the name at this point since I've sold the game) with the floating rock formations and the thunderous clouds below you was by far the most-impressive use of the PS2's graphics capabilities and stage design I've ever seen.

It's Tecmo. That's all I can say. They typically put out the best looking stuff on any console they touch, in comparison with what other companies do with it. I've always considered Tecmo the Kings of 3D graphics since their foray on the Sega Saturn. They pretty much kept it up.

Tecmo really did Rygar justice by releaseing that game.
Also it's a good quick action fix since it's only like 5-6 hours long.

I thought the game was merely okay.

Didn't really like how slow you are. It plays like any other generic 3D action game to me that's so prevalent in this generation of game system.

Wasn't great, wasn't bad, just another average game.

I loved and enjoyed PS2 Rygar much much more than Castlevania Lament of Innocence.

Though in the end I ended up trading/selling both away

Tecmo make some damn good games. They knwo how to craft soem excellent graphics. DOA3 is still the best looking 3d fighter on the planet.

Even proud "PS2 haters" like me must assume this game ownz.

It's most possibly the best looking PS2 game I ever saw.
It's definitelly a SUPERB game. Quite hard to find a good game like this one nowadays.

I guess I'd say Rygar is probably in the top 10 PS2 games. It was maybe the first PS2 game I played where I felt they finally gave a 3d game the same sort of playablility as the old, 2d stuff.

Gorgeous gfx, great music

Short, but very sweet.

The game and bosses are brilliant but some of the enemies leave a lot to be desired.

I really enjoyed PS2 Rygar as well. It's been just about a year since I played it, but it was excellent. I will have to pick up another copy sometime
