GameStop shelves N-Gage

In "reallocation of inventory," GameStop drops N-Gage from a third of its retail locations.

Nokia today confirmed to GameSpot that specialty retailer GameStop has pulled N-Gage units from 450 of its stores which previously had carried the hybrid phone/game deck. "GameStop is reallocating inventory and efforts on locations where sales have been strongest," a Nokia spokesperson told GameSpot today. GameStop operates almost 1,500 retail locations worldwide, although most of those stores are located in the U.S.

Nokia learned of the GameStop decision only this week and was unable to comment as to how common a "reallocation" strategy is within the GameStop organization. The Nokia spokesperson indicated the news would not affect Nokia's backing of the device. Since its launch last October, the N-Gage has come in for mixed reviews from technology reporters, analysts, and game reviewers. Last week, the Finnish manufacturer reported having sold 600,000 N-Gage units into the worldwide marketplace.

No surprise there. No one even wants a used N-Gage for $99...it's not even a bad cell phone priced there.

ahem, nail number one in the tiny coffin.

Wait, wasn't nail one the idea that no one bought it. Two was the fact that the protection scheme was cracked and phones for a fraction of a price could play the same games... three was probably the price drop and still no one wanted it... this is atleast the forth or fifth nail... and like you said, it is a small coffin... they are going to run out of space to drive nails!

Nail number one ? lol !!

How many lots of nails have been nailed already ?

In my opinion, it isn't even a bad system. I just don't feel it's a decent console.

As a cell phone, it just sucks coz it ain't ergonomic to use and it's too big. People look like they're holding banana's when they're talking with other people at the phone !

TOP TEN NAILS:

http://www.gamespot.com/ngage/index.html

Note the number one game with a score of 3.4/10.

Avg. score for the top eight games:

4.6

That's right, I said four point fucking six!!11!1!

Aside from being an awkward POS system, the games have earned some of the shittiest reviews this side of a cd-i. Pulling the fucking plug already, this is just sickening - oh the humanity!!
