I was just wondering if the Japanese version was playable if you can't read Japanese. I really want to play this game, but I have no skill at reading the language, and no desire to pay that much money for the U.S. version.

And to think, I once owned it, but sold it for a sum to low to mention without me getting depressed.

Well, at first theres Japanese subtitles and then they start speaking japanese, you'd have no troubles getting through the game but you'd loose out on the story.

i got the JPN version from NCS the week it came out, and did beat it, was stuck in a few spots for hours, this was before FAQS. you still get the gist of the story, but you can't read anything unless you know japanese, when you're in towns you pretty much just talk to everyone, check everywhere, and then talk to them again if nothing happens. the best part of the game are the battles in the dragoon, cause that doesn't require language.

it may sound immoral, but I think you can do yourself a favor by getting someone who has the english version to burn you copies of the discs.

This game is worth buying, it is that good, but the only problem is that its really expensive, and that sucks.

I agree with wasabi (WTF?) that though it sounds wrong, your best bet at getting the game would be getting a copy.

i was lucky enough to have a friend who has this game so i borrowed and played through it and its probably my fave RPG

im not a real RPG player so i wasint that pissed that it was reasonably short

i appretiated the fact that the game was constantly progressing..rarely are you just walking around talking to ppl not knowing what to do next

this is the first RPG ever to not totally piss me off with the random encounters

i actually enjoyed the battles although abit easy its a great system.

so if u can find it i think you should go for it...
