So I take it that in FFT: Advance there is NO chance to ride a Chocobo?

I've got a shitload of hours and battles put into this game and it's starting to seem like the only appearances of Chocobos in the game are in spell effects or the Chocobos the judges ride.

A very addictive game- but it's going to be really stupid if you can't EVER control or ride a Chocobo.

Just thinking about it makes me think I'll need to pick up the PSX FFT again.

Lamentably, you can't ride a Chocobo. Apparently, only Judges are authorized to ride them in Ivalice. Then again, maybe they'll expand upon this in FFXII.

Ok so i am about 4 hours into this game. The question is: Does it get better? Where is the story? I'm just wandering around doing missions and lamo clan stuff. Its just rather dull. When do i get to save the world, etc?

I didn't like the game at all, I put it in my GBA 1 time for 32min and I have never touched that peice of shit again, the original is much better. I decided to buy Mega Man Zero a few weeks back and theat is a great game, fun and addictive...hell there's even a bad ass story in the game. I need to pick up the second MMZ game soon.

I love the game... The only way to control a chocobo is to finish all the missions... I'm not kiddin'... I got four of the secret characters already... Definitely more playable than the original...

One of the things I didn't like about FFT PS1 was the battles just took... so... damn... long.

FFTA isn't really my cup of tea.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but it seemed really shallow to me.

Yeah, I know there's the law system, but frankly, I didn't like that much either.

I slapped a gameshark on it right before the end and started playing it with one code - no laws. Made the game much better.

Anyhow.

what made FFT on the PSX so good was that with a gameshark, I could get characters like Zalbag, Celia and Leda on my team with their distinct skills. Made the game much more fun after beating it the first time.

Then I learned how to use the gameshark to warp to secret locations for battles. I mean, through the gameshark, the game just opened up logarithmicly.

Yeah, FFTA was kind of shallow but I still enjoyed making specific characters. I really enjoyed it but I doubt I'll play through it again.

HAHA... I thought I was the only one who doesn't use a Game Shark with FFT... Sooo much more fun... And it's still a long battle even though I use a Game Shark!!!

FFTA does seem kind of shallow. Shallow to the point where i don't want to play it. I agree with EW, this game just isn't my cup of tea. The law system while interesting is just ultimately gay.

The Original outlcasses this game by far. Personally i don't know what you guys are talking about with the battles taking to long. Maybe at the begining of the game, and the harder boss type battles.
