so at first it was goo (6 months ago) a keen eye for the indicators would help you avoid the fakes.. then the movie companies flooded kaz with fakes, so many you had to spend hours looking for the needle in the haystack..

now there is this "drm" crap, you grab it and have to accept some "new" wm download that gives you an individual number sent to microsoft or some shit.. what is it about? i havent approved the action yet and dont plan to coz its gotta be a way to charge you for it right? whats it about?

Kazaa is crap man. Use newsgroups or IRC. All those p2p programs are just full of wastoids that have crappy rips of a divx movie, and its incomplete, or its a cam from the movies. Horrible.

The only thing I go on kazaa for (rarely that I do) is for maybe an mp3 here and there.

irc is way to hard.. i just watch movies for fun every now and then. i cant use newsgroups...

i use dc++ for hiphop and other stuff. it rocks.

kazaa is great for tv shows as well (some anyways..). saw lost in translation last night, awesome quality sorta cool movie too.

Im assuming you mean "Direct Connect" with the DC++ term. I tried DC once, and the people there were really rude. "if you dont have 2 billion movies to share, we dont want you here". How the hell am I supposed to get 2billion movies if no one here will met me in?

IRC isnt that hard. Its kind of annoying sometimes because you have to waite in queue, but I don't mind it. I just get in queue, go to bed, and usually by morning, its there.

Try eDonkey or SoulSeek as well, they both tend to be a little nicer than Kazaa when it comes to both users that don't fuck with you and content. However, you can't touch newsgroups... amazing stuff to be found there, and no waiting... fast speeds... etc,

I've NEVER had a good exp with Edonkey. I tried it back when morpheus was good, and Edonkey was supposed to be the big competitor. NEVER connected to anything. I would let it sit for over an hour just waiting for it to make a connection, and nothing. Same with Shareaza. Back when no one knew about Shareaza, it was great, Id download good stuff at over 400k a second.. now its a miracle if I can get it to connect.

I use Overnet with ShareReactor.com ... any movies you want, pretty much.

Thats another one I cant get the hang of. BitTorrent. It sounds great on paper, but whenever I do find something I want and try to download, im lucky if I get over 5k a second.

it starts slow (5k a second) then the more of the file you download-the more you upload, which means your speed rockets up (150-300k). Also keep in mind that if you download old stuff there won't be as many people who are downloading from you which will keep your speed slow.

hey this is sorta related, but does anyone know where I can get last nights Smallville episode on DivX? My RePlayTV thing had a problem last night and didnt record it for me.

if you guys are willing to put in the effort, checkout nforce or vcdquality

no, you can't dl anything from those sites and don't bother emailing the webmasters to send you anything cause they won't... basically though, check the .nfo's for releases.
usually release groups will post 'help wanted'/recruitment info in their .nfo's and provide contact info for anyone interested.

if you can actually get in good with any of those groups you'll never have to bother with some god forsaken p2p app again.
