I am looking for some games like Panzer Dragoon and Rez.

Can anyone suggest some titles?

(Warning: Old school reference coming) Space Harrier?

Oddly enough, I wish I could say Planet Harriers, but for most of us, that game doesn't exist outside of screenshots.

Generally, the ones you mentioned are the main on-rails series I've played. Outside of that, it's mainly 2D shooters, in terms of games with pathing as such.

Seriously thats about all the others that i know of. This really a great genre i think, i'd love to know of some more as well.

i have this game for pcengine. its like space harrier, but youre a ninja and you kill other ninjas. its pretty bad ass.

isnt starfox pretty much a rail shooter?

Hell yeah, Star Fox. I forgot all about those games. SF64 is an awesome game.

I'm really interested in what Namco will do with the new one.

Funny enough, outside of nintendo's older StarFox games, Sega has pretty much cornered much of the market on rail shooters. It's a genre that sadly doesn't have many games within it. There were a few Laserdisk games, back in the day, that also were included in this small genre. Stuff like Mach III.

I remember seeing the videos of the multiplayer component months ago. When the hell is this game coming out? After E3?

The rail shooting sections in Starfox Adventures when you flew off planet left me begging for more.

Xevious 3 available for import on PSX

I haven't heard anything about it in a long time either. Hopefully Namco knows what they are doing.

Starblade is a great one, the PSX version even has an option for....textures

You can play it, along with the 3D Solvalou (sp?) in MAME.

The PC Engine game mentiond above is Jimmu Densho Yaksa by Wolfteam
